Independent Ilonggo artists will be displaying their works and raising awareness on various social issues this coming July 4, 2009 in an event dubbed as the “Ilonngo Indie Art Fest,” which will be held in Dos Maria Pizzaria, General Luna St., Iloilo City at 3pm until 12am.
The night will be jampacked with music, short films, visual arts, and indigenous culture performances centered on social awareness to environment preservation, AIDS, HIV, safe sex, registering to vote, and “ako mismo” movment. The Ilonngo Indie Art Fest will be held for the benefit of schools in Isla Gigantes Sur (Carles, Iloilo). Be sure to bring old & used textbooks for donation.
It was a successful event. There were many people there got rock n roll!

Hey I am visiting Iloilo next month… got an offer here ( http://tinyurl.com/n5lnku ) that will reduce my travel expenses to about USD 94 a night. Seems like I will be missing the Indie Art Fest though (I will be there after 10th of July). Any suggestions on what other events I may look forward to attending ?
Finally! some kind of hip event in the city that will benefit and promote ilonggo artists! I am proud and will help to cultivate this event.
