Treñas reports Iloilo City’s gains

MAYOR Jerry Treñas likened Iloilo City to a blooming flower when he reported his achievements before the Sangguniang Panlungsod Wednesday. In his State of the City Address (SOCA) delivered before the City Council, Treñas highlighted investments, tourism and giant road network projects that supported the city’s growth. Read more »

Jerry amenable to city split proposal

MAYOR Jerry Treñas said he supports the city split proposal citing double pork barrel allocations Iloilo City could get once it is divided into two congressional districts. “It will provide more CDF (Countryside Development Fund) which will help the city implements projects. Even before, I had supported the proposal,” Treñas told reporters.

A NEW Iloilo City Hall, train for city-airport route and eco-port terminal as gateway to Guimaras for tourism purposes. These are the ambitious plans Mayor Jerry Treñas wants to achieve during his last term in the next three years. Old Iloilo airport bid price reduced to P900M

ILOILO CITY - The Department of Finance has lowered the bidding price of the 54-hectare site of the old Iloilo airport from P1.2 billion to P900 million, a city government executive said yesterday. Read more »

Big call center enters Iloilo City

ILOILO City Mayor Jerry P. Treñas yesterday said another major call center company will invest in the metropolis. However, he did not reveal the name of the company that has been assessing a prospective location in the city. “The call center company planning to branch out in the city is as big as TeleTech. This is a go – this is very good news,” Treñas told reporters. Read more »

Flyover Delayed - Construction suffers one-month setback

3 more sisterhood pacts await signing

City Tourism chief Ben Jimena said three more cities from abroad will become sister-cities of Iloilo City once their respective pacts are signed. Jimena identified the two states as Tallahassee in Florida, San Antonio, Texas and Hao Shiong in Taiwan. The Tallahassee is the center of education, Texas is considered as heritage city and Hao Shiong as Ocean City. Read more »
