A month after Typhoon Frank: Iloilo back on track
It’s been over a month since Typhoon Frank hit Iloilo and the situation in Iloilo is starting to get back to normal. People are back to work and classes have begun, most of the streets and houses have been cleared up of mud, and construction activities have resumed.

The city proper appears fully recovered and bears no evidence of the worst typhoon in the city’s history. The dirt clouds hounding the streets of Mandurriao have cleared up and Smallville, Iloilo’s nightlife strip, has resumed full operations.

Jaro District, the worst affected by Typhoon Frank, unfortunately doesn’t share a similar fate. There’s still heaps of mud at the road sides releasing a bad odor and dirt clouds when dry. Hopefully, the families displaced by the storm have been given assistance by the relief efforts and are already standing on their own feet.
Generally, the city is in a good shape and people can visit or do business in Iloilo once again.

Iloilo can do it if everybody would be mindful of everything . It has to start in the family and in the baranggay up to the government .here in makati people now how to fight for their rights , if they think something is wrong they are bold enough to speak up and complain and do something . so they get good service and results . Corruption starts at home .
long live iloilo
its a wake up call to parents .long live iloilo .

Bastante ang space sa bilog nga Isla Panay kon factorias ang paga-ipatindog. Madamo nga bakante nga lupa sa Isla Panay nga wala gani matamnan pa! BTW, calling the attention of United States and Canada to invest in the Philippines while the properties here are still available for business. Cheers! : )
Bapor guid ako sang recycling business. Truly, a good business in US and Canada. Tani ang US ma-invest man diri factory like fabric, clothing, and plastic kag-iship pakadto dira kag sa iban pa nga nasyon, parehas bala sa Mexico. Army uniform, doctor and nurses uniform kag iban pa. Kag ini pabor guid sa US kayman diri dolyar ang ila guina-bayad samtang dira sa aton peso. Of course medyo daku-daku guid man ang isueldo sa tawo eh! Kon ini matigayon DAKU ini nga bulig sa Pinoy kag sa pungsod Pinas. Hilabi na guid kon sa ILOILO nila i-invest ang mga factorias nga ini WOW! God bless ILOILO! Cheers! : )

Ang no 1 contributor pala siling nila sa global warming amo ang america kag canada kag iban pa. siling ang pleasure diri sang tawo sa rich country gali makatuga sang disaster sa pigado nga nasyon. just imagine isa ka tawo isa ka auto tapos makita ko diri 24/7 puno ang mga highways. bal an ang auto diri is a necessity kay ano abi kalayo sang mga ulubrahan. good to hear from you marcos after a long while! i hope that iloilo will learn from this disaster. i have a brother who is a policeman back there in Jaro who said that they could not help stranded flood victims because they lack equipment such as motorboats. experts warned that because of global warming, more powerful storms are to be expected, so hopefully our government and our people should take this warning seriously. but we filipinos have this fatalistic attitude towards everything. but i have hopes that this is changing especially among the ‘ulihing tubo’ generation.
as always, thank you marcos for this blog. it helps a lot of homesick ‘kasimanwas’ abroad.
iloilo is back on business!
