Congrats sa mga Ilonggo for doing their BEST! For letting Philippines know that Ilonggo culture is rich and so unique that we stood out among the rest. By garnering 2nd & 3rd places in street dance and 3rd in the float design should be enough to show that we are the BEST compared to the rest of the regions. Again, Marcos, thanks for this update….shots are matchless!

It was a good and peaceful Aliwan this year. The Ilonggos put up a good fight to the championship but maybe it was just Buyogan’s time this year. Iloilo tribes have had its glory and is continuing to entertain audiences every year.

i forgot all about the aliwan but when i saw the winners, i am happy that Cebu/ Sinulog has still maintained it’s throne for four times now. For info, Buyogan Festival of Abuyog Leyte is Cebu’s grand champion during the 2009 Sinulog – FI Category and is Cebu’s bet to represent the Aliwan Festival. Effectively, it is still Cebu’s Sinulog standards which continue to shine in the Aliwan Festival for four consecutive years. Siloy Festival of Alcoy Cebu is a placer during the 2009 Sinulog – Sinulog-based Category and also shone well. And of course, I am happy to know that a Cebuana beauty (a world-class beauty) shone as well during the Aliwan – Festival Queen. This proves Cebu will always give its best anything, anywhere and anytime – truly, it has become a world class city – culturally and economically. Congrats to Cebu and the Aliwan!
