I want go in that place on May 31, 2012 together with my husband as a vacation trip but how ? How much all of the expenses if we bounce from Iloilo email me please at jhoyhish16@yahoo.com . Do we need to book early for reservation ?
Please be advise before booking to any resorts it does not matter where, do your research first, find out the location as most of the resort does not specified correct location. Be prepare to end up in a very secluded area, if traveling with babies and elderly be sure to make other arrangements, ie: transport telephone number in case of emergency, find out fees involve in caso por caso. Take all necessary foods for babies and a complete first aid box with you. The worst that can happen is you end up stuck somewhere unreachable because of bad weather by sea or by land. It is also best to book anywhere only for a few days it will give you the option to stay or to leave and change to preferred location.
GUIMARAS IMPROVEMENT/CHANGES – Guys can we possibly think carefully kon ano gid ang malahalon kag importante. Turning Guimaras to become the next Boracay will not be to all Filipinos benefits. Building massive hotels, restaurants, shops, clubs and casinos bring nothing but misery. Widening the road for a very small island is not conducive to it’s size and certainly having thousands of cars will not be advisable. Our Island need limited destruction, plenty of trees, to put it simply ‘it needs looking after’. Please do not turn a blind eye kon ano ang malain nga gina experienced sang mga lugar nga well developed na after a few years. Problems – alcohol, drugs, prostitution, aids or any sexual related diseases kag mga higko sa aton invironment. We all agree Guimaras is undeveloped but best to see it like that (untouched) than making changes impossible to fix or put back. Learn from them before we destroy Guimaras.
Proper training and improving what there is is more than enough sa needs sang mga visitors naton. Go to Boracay, Cebu, Mindoro, Palawan etc… if you want well developed area. Discredit any institutions (hotels, resorts, restaurants) even the authority but deep down through it’s ugliness (being untouched or undeveloped) the islands beauty and spirit lingers within us. Be happy & satisfied with what Guimaras is now. Promote Guimaras to stay as it is for being untouched has his own merits.
Baras Beach Resort is an amazing place. A paradise on the beach and a dirty bug-infested dump. The site is a romantic tropical dream with coral beach and traditional cabins overlooking the inlet. A site earning one star. The cabins were completely ant infested, very dirty, and termite eaten. Slamming the door of my cabin, needed to close it, brought a rain of termite detritus!
Given his zero budget, the cook prepared surprisingly good Philippine food. There were no non-Philippine food choices or goodies like ice cream or smoothies.. Guimaras is famed for mangos yet there was no fruit until we asked for it twice. We were asked to make a partial payment on our bill to enable the purchase of food! The resort neglected to include P200 ($5) of phone load purchased by my daughter in the bill. Within 2 hours of departure she received firm repeated requests to pay this by Pass-A-Load from the owner.
For most travelers there could be no worse choice. Perhaps that’s why Baras Beach was deserted when we arrived and there was but one other guest during our 3 days. Artistic Divers in Sipilay is an excellent resort with a gorgeous site, good food, clean rooms with AC at the same price.
try to go there but I need someone to be with me kasi…let me check if he’s going with me there…hahaha
definitely commendable…service and food is superb…surely its a paradise…:)
the place is conducive for dating…hehehe…its nice to have a group outing with friends….lot of amenities to use…hoping for a next visit..
but.. . to my surprise wen we ordered some seafood and even a sandwich there is no available. limited stocks of food.. . are u really sure u can afford to run that kind of business.. .
awesome.. .! the best place for relaxation and adventure.. .
Nice place, but the service? worst! Damn! Nakakahiya!…honestly…
we just got back from baras.it’s a really nice place to go to if you want peace and quiet or if you’re with a group of people to keep you company . there’s really n0thing to do there but stare at the ocean and the foliage.plus they only turn on the generator from 6pm to 11 pm.afterwards , you’re plunged into darkness.the food is good though, albeit a bit pricey.
Guimaras is really one of the best place to visit at the moment. Been there annually since 2008 and still cant get enough of it. I highly recommend Barras Resort with it’s tranquil ambiance. Though the cottages badly needs sprucing up. I hope that the provincial government can truly achieve it’s goal to be a sustainable, prime tourism destination. Viva Guimaras!

our branch station in Negros is planning to hold a team-building seminar on April 16-18, 2009. We are a group of 70, 40 of which are farm laborers (they could go “cowboy style”). Could we possibly book in this resort (baras beachresort)? Your utmost reply is greatly appreciated. Thanks much and God bless!!
Hello,
Please contact the resort directly through the contact number posted.
we are so excited to go to guimaras by your testimony. we love to go to baras resort, can you help us… how we can go to baras beach resort. From Bago Bacolod how can we get to guimaras. how many hours will it take us to the paradise of guimaras. Thank you. you can txt me 09177271555. thx
i love this place..
thnaks.
The development of Guimaras’ tourism, although a bit slow, is inevitable because the island has a lot of potential. I agree that the province should learn from Boracay and start the preservation plan before the mushrooming of resorts.
well i hope places like these should be preserved by the gov. have you seen bora lately? its not so good anymore. its becoming rural and dirtier. guimaras and places as such should be preserved and maintain its natural beauty so that our childrens’ children will see the same beauty that we saw today!
cheers!
[re=62178]JOlly[/re]: thank you for putting on a deadline for bridge construction.
Well..Goodluck for Guimaras Island and Sicogon Island. I wish and pray that the dream for both islands will come true. Both places have plenty of space to build up hotels, resorts, restaurants, gift and souviner shoppes, spa/gym, and even a casino. Cheers!!
Guimaras Island is one of the promising paradise islands in Asia. The island is truly a paradise. Yet not congested like Boracay. IF, I have these big bucks in my hands, I take chance quick before the others. Whoever can afford to put up the business there, I think this is the right time. First come, first serve basis. The island rocks! Hala Bira Guimaras! Cheers! : )
All I can say that GUIMARAS Island has the sexiest beaches in Asia. Too many to mention. I don’t need to mention all of them. Exploring Guimaras Island for business and infrastructure, Guimaras Island has a lot to offer. Guimaras Island has the wide spaces for hotels, resorts, restaurants, coffee shops, casino and others. Guimaras needs good four lane road all over the place, plus the landscaping along the road. BTW, the Plan B (Bridge-ILOILO-GUIMARAS) should be constructed not less than 7 years. I pray to God. Cheers! : )
