What do you think of the new banner header … is it a keeper or will I need to modify it some more?

Greetings, I’m sorry for the slow postings for almost 2 weeks already. Explore Iloilo will be up and running soon as the ISP I’m currently applying for installs the internet connection. I’ve not yet updated this site because I’ve already sent home my pc and there’s no internet there yet and I’m not quite comfortable using other PCs in public internet cafes … It’s quite hard to understand, maybe I’m just too attached to my PC, hehe.

Rest assured I’ve already lined up a lot of new updates. Thank You

This Dinagyang-January, Explore Iloilo in cooperation with the Ilonggo members of SSC will be releasing Iloilo Souvenir Photos which will debut during the Dinagyang Festival.

The Iloilo Souvenir Photos will feature Iloilo and its numerous tourist destinations. We’ll try our best to make them interesting so that you might want to have a copy of them.

It’s our way of promoting Iloilo and raising money for group fund, which is used for our “road trips” and little projects. It could also be a way for people to showcase Iloilo’s beauty to their friends and family.

It’s the end of the holidays and I’m back on the keyboard again, woohoo!. I’ll try to make-up for the slow postings in December … I hope.

But first, I’d like to thank the visitors for supporting this site for the past year, 2006. According to Google Analytics, for the past 4 months ExploreIloilo.com has had 13,997 visits and 149,549 pageviews with 264 posts and 353 comments.

The website has outperformed my expectations, although I know there’s still a vast potential for growth considering the total amount of Ilonggos online and the increasing attention that Iloilo has been getting. I hope the trends will continue to rise and I’ll also be able to post as frequently as I did.

I’m very optimistic on what’s in store for Iloilo this 2007. Lots and lots of development happening, and ofcourse I’ll be posting about them when they happen.

As you might have noticed, I have modified the layout of the site. I’m using more contemporary colors and greys this time. I’m hoping that this will make the website look more neat and organized, unlike the previous layout which I thought was a bit hard on the eyes.

I also managed to reduce the total file size of the homepage to half, which will significantly improve the loading time and performance of the site.

So far the makeover is halfway done … the real job is updating and writing more content to the site, which I will be doing within the day or next. I will prioritize information about tourist facilities such as Hotels and convention centers, Iloilo Real Estate, and Tourist Destinations. If I have some time left, I might be giving each municipality its own comprehensive info page.

Suggestions are highly appreciated at this time. I need to know if the layout is okay or if I have to do some more tinkering with the color-combinations or more additions.

It’s yet again the end of November, so far the performance of Exploreiloilo.com has been more than okay … it’s magnificent. I’d like to thank all of you for visit and supporting this site, and I promise to make it even better in time for the new year and for Dinagyang of course.

Since I’ll be having a 2-3 week December break from school, I’ll have ample time to have a major update to the site lay-out, structure, and content (kag ma lagaw like there’s no tomorrow around Iloilo Province).

You will notice a bit of a sliggish posting for this week, this is because I’m getting busier at school. I’ll be posting once again when I’m a bit free.

4 lists will be posted each month. The choice of what lists to post in a particular month will be discussed here. After a week or so, the 4 lists will be agreed upon and the entries of each list will then be nominated and discussed.
