Project Details: Located in the tropical climate zone, the Philippines is hit by typhoons that are born in the Pacific Ocean annually. In addition, Iloilo City and its outlying areas, stretching over low and flat land, are vulnerable to large-scale flooding and mudslide disasters frequently during the rainy season. Every year, the flooding problem in Iloilo causes millions of pesos in damages and unfavorable investment competitiveness.
Project Details: The proposed main campus of Ateneo de Iloilo - Santa Maria Catholic School sits in a 7.5-hectare campus in Brgy. San Rafael, Mandurriao. The facility, valued at P200M, is currently under works and will be partly operational in 2009.

Two of the seven hectares was donated by Kauturan Pison Development Foundation (Kapideco) while the five will be purchased by Ateneo de Iloilo. The Pisons also donated a half-hectare lot for the construction of the Santa Maria Parish.

An eight-kilometer boulevard is up for development in Iloilo City as part of the second phase of the multi-billion Iloilo Flood Control Project (IFCP).

Project Details: The project involves the construction of a 100MW coal-fired power plant by DCMI Holdings in Concepcion town located in the Northeastern part of Iloilo. The said power plant will be constructed in Sitio Puntales, Barangay Nipa, Concepcion and will occupy about 600 hectares.
Despite opposition to the project due to environmental concerns, the project has passed requirements of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) through the issuance of an Environmental Compliance Certificate and a memorandum of Memorandum of Understanding between DCMI Holdings and the LGU of Concepcion was already secured.
The 100MW Coal-fired Powerplant in Concepcion will have its groundbreaking before July 2008 and will start construction on July 2008.
