Iloilo Greets 2011 with a Bang! A Happy New Year to All!

Hundreds of Ilonggos gathered in the Iloilo River (Treñas) Boulevard during the eve of the new year to experience the 2011 countdown and pyromusical show. The event was a big success! The first ever fireworks display staged at the Iloilo River brightened not only the night sky but also set aflame the excitement and awe of the crowd. Nothing could be more perfect to celebrate the new decade for Iloilo than with a big BANG!

Explore Iloilo cited by international firm, KPMG

A few months ago KPMG, one of the largest professional services firms in the world, released a report about the World’s new emerging outsourcing destinations entitled “Exploring Global Frontiers“. It came to a surprise when Bernie from Taralets! Blog informed us about ExploreIloilo.com being cited as one of the sources in the said report. Apparently, the people behind KPMG had visited Explore Iloilo to find information about current BPO companies in Iloilo. Here’s a screen shot of their report:

Explore Iloilo goes to Aliwan Fiesta 2009!

For the first time, Explore Iloilo will be covering the Aliwan Fiesta from the streets of Manila on April 23 to 29 to give support to three Ilonggo contingents who will be performing namely: Kasag Festival of Banate, Tribu Paghidaet of Dinagyang Festival, and Grupo Del Oeste of Paraw Regatta Festival. A big thank you to all viewers of Explore Iloilo for continuing to support this blog and its aim of promoting Iloilo online! Your views, comments, emails, links, and referrals to friends and family were of great inspiration to keep the flame burning. Looking forward to yet another productive and dynamic year of covering our beloved Iloilo!

In 2008, Explore Iloilo has attracted over 194,769 Visits (533 visits per day) with 710,085 Pageviews (1944 pageviews per day) and a total of 2,863 comments (Google Analytics). Figures could have been higher if not for server down times especially during the end of the year, I have corrected the problem and moved to a more reliable web host.

Iloilo among the best places to live by Moneysense Magazine

MoneySense Magazine has just placed Iloilo City at 5th spot in their list of best places to live in the Philippines on their March-April 2008 issue. The magazine attributes Iloilo’s strategic location, top schools, and natural wonders, among the deciding factors in including Iloilo in the list.

Boy Abunda mentions ExploreIloilo.Com again in Part 2 of “Boy&Kris” feature of Iloilo and Guimaras

For the second time, popular ABS CBN morning talk show Boy&Kris featured Iloilo and Guimaras on their episode, which was aired on February 3, 2007. Since the first episode was able to showcase the many places of interest in Iloilo, the second episode featured more on the popular and note-worthy Ilonggo personalities. The show also displayed many of Guimaras’ tourist attractions including their top attraction, the Guimaras mango, touted as the sweetest mango in the world.
