The Dinagyang Ati is a competition of groups called “tribus” giving patronage to the child Jesus through choreographed dance presentations under the thumping beat of the drums. The Dinagyang Ati Competition is the main highlight of the Dinagyang Festival and is held every 4th sunday of January.

The winner of the Dinagyang Ati Competition is awarded a ticket to perform in the much coveted Aliwan Festival in Manila. This year, Tribu Paghidaet won the Dinagyang Ati2009 Chiampionship. They will be battling with the best of Philippine festivals in the Aliwan Festival 2009 this April. For sure they will make us Ilonggos proud by promoting Iloilo to the country and to the world. WOw grabe gd ang performance sang dinagyang 2009 ba. believe ako nami gd ang ila performance world class. kabay nga next year makapuli kami tan aw sang dinagyang 2010. matahum gd ang Iloilo walang katulad.
Every year of Dinagyang is unique because there tribes are always finding new concepts, innovations, and routines. Looking forward man for Dinagyang 2010!
Very Good Job, MC. Masyado gid ka nami ang programa kag performance nila this year. Basi sa next year malooy and Santo Nino makapauli man kami dira sa semana sang Dinagyang kay Sinulog. Mabuhay and Iloilo Dinagyang kag kaloy-an man kita tanan ni Senior Santo Nino.
The performance of Paghidaet is nice though.
Last year was I think much better. But we will see they still have time to practise, I know they will. The only thing that needs to be improved is their is not much life and excitement to the props and costume the colors are dull. Work it out men!
