Jaro District Fiesta
The annual fiesta of the District of Jaro, Iloilo City is a grand event scheduled every 2nd of February. People from all over Iloilo would flock to Jaro to join in the revelry. Many would visit the Jaro Cathedral to honor the district’s patron saint, Nuestra Senora de la Candelaria, said to be miraculous.
The highlight is a grand religious parade around Jaro held in the afternoon. Another famous event during the fiesta is the Cock Derby in the Jaro Coliseum, where typically you will see bets amounting to millions in value.
