“); }; ?>For those who have passed by the General Luna - Diversion Road intersection or “Stoplight” lately, you might have painstakingly noticed a great slowdown of traffic in the area because of the closure of one section of General Luna St., in front of the UPV Campus. The road was closed off to give way to the construction of the first flyover to be built in the Western Visayas Region.

This flyover is part of the President’s Bridge Program, a nationwide project which aims to build bridges and flyovers all over the country. The construction is programmed to complete in 120 calendar days or roughly 4 months, that means it’ll be finished by July.

After the “stoplight” flyover is done, a new flyover will be built at the Diversion Road - Jalandoni St. intersection, in front of SM City Iloilo. The second flyover is also going to be built under the President’s Bridge Program.

Iloilo’s third flyover will be built at the General Luna - Jalandoni St. intersection, the one near University of San Agustin or in front of Blue Jay Cafe and the new bridge (called Jalandoni Bridge). This flyover is the last component of the Jalandoni Bridge Project, which will probably be completed in 2008 or 2009.
