Chy, congrats, you’ve finally made it. I’d like to comment regarding the “ghostly cemeteries” thing. I wouldn’t call them as such, based on experience. Why don’t we highlight the artistic aspect instead of its morbidity. Anyway, I might have an article coming up anytime next week (hopefully TNT publishes it). Then perhaps, you can link up to it.

More power.

You’re Heaven Sent! Great Job! I’ve been wanting a great website for Iloilo especially since we’re getting ready to go home this January 2007. There’s 30 of us mostly, wala pa ini ka-kita sang Iloilo. Ti, subong pwede ko na ma-SHOWCASE ang aton banwa through sa imo website. Nami pa abi kay highly detailed tapos damo pa links sa articles nga significant sa economic growth of Iloilo.

I know most foreign workers would like to invest there but we don’t have an easy way to do it online. Maskin na lang to get info, for example with real estate-the pictures and locations you provided are a great help. The plans and on-going projects by the government and the private sector that you provided are very useful to some of us who are thinking of opening a business in Iloilo.

I’ll tell friends and families about this website. And yes, “da best” gid ang Iloilo Supermart video jingle… hahaha. Nadumduman ko na lang gani ang jingle sang Ledi Supermart….. “….sa Ledi makita-ay kita” hahaha……

So keep up the good work!

Chy,

Iloilo City is Great! One of the most beautiful and safest cities in the Philippines. A nice place to live forever. All we need is the US EMBASSY right in the Heart of the City. Now, I have a confidence to invite my friends to come with me for a vacation as soon as possible. I missed the “Dinagyang Festival” for nearly darn 10 years…sigh! My daughter is planning to visit there by 2007 or maybe 2008, after her graduation. Chy, keep up the good work. I really love your site. God bless you!

November 15, 2006, 10:38 am

Jade

Man!

You did a wonderful job! Now, it’s “METRO ILOILO”. Iloilo City deserves the best! A wonderful city to live and put a business on track. We need more infrastructure to build up the city on the top of the lists. US EMBASSY is one of the most important government offices needed to be built in the Heart of Iloilo City. “DINAGYANG FESTIVAL” is one of the most attractive festivites in the Island PHILIPPINES. The same as “Boracay Island”, Philippines. Good luck to Mayor Trenas, and the City Government of Iloilo and the staffs. And keep the most of it, who posted this awesome site, where all the Filipinos abroad can see the development of ILOLO CITY, THE GREAT! Chy…thanks a lot! Kisses!

Chy,

Hello to City of Iloilo, Philippines! I just opened your website, and guess what I saw…the BIG improvement of Iloilo City that I never expected to happen. Congratulation to Mayor Jerry Trenas and his staffs, for helping Iloilo City to shine! I missed to watch the “DINAGYANG FESTIVAL” nearly a decade, also I missed to play bowling at St. Elizabeth Center, Mary Mart Mall. Sigh! By the way, we need US EMBASSY AND BRITISH EMBASSY right in the City of Iloilo, if possible. Getting the papers done is a big job to any Ilonggo going back and forth Iloilo-Manila route, just to process for a piece of paper to get it done in the right time and in the right manner. So, my suggestion is simple. To inform the Mayor of Iloilo City and to the City Councilors by passing the resolution requesting both embassies to be built in the City of Iloilo. Thank You very much! Chy…keep up the good work. You did an amazing job for the people as well. I really love your site. “Viva Sr. Sto. Nino!!!” Hala Bira!!! Woooooo!!! May God bless us all! Good Luck Chy!.

Now, I don’t feel homesick since you posted your access on the net, where we can contact and suggest about what more we need to do to accomplish another project in the near future. Good Luck Iloilo City, the Heart of the Philippines! Thank You President Arroyo and your staffs to make our dreams come true! Also Thank You President Bush for helping our country, may the good Lord bless you! I missed “DINAGYANG FESTIVAL” for darn 10 years! I need a vacation…ASAP! Chy…congrats! and bless your heart! Thank You!

Hi Man!

Hello to you! Wow! I like your site a lot! Now, we can suggest what we really need to improvise out there in our beloved ILOILO CITY, The HEART OF THE PHILIPPINES! We really need more infrastructure like US EMBASSY in the City of Iloilo needed to be built ASAP! Commuting Iloilo-Manila for a piece to paper to be done in the right time, is a huge job plus the time and transportations being consumed is very hard for Ilonggo. I hope and pray that this request will granted ASAP. Okay, “Happy Dingayang Festival 2007!!!!!!! Hala Bira!!!!!I love the delicious food in Iloilo Food Festival. I missed Boracay Island! The surfing…canoing…water skeing..and swimming are my cups of tea! And sun bathing…woooohoooo!!!LMAO! ..Please…put the “Letchon” on the table..I am getting hungry!..LOL! Okay, Chy?!!thanks a lot, bless yah Tol! Keep up the good job. Nice!

Hello!

Okay, now that Iloilo City International Airport will soon to open this coming March of 2007, all we need is the US Embassy be located in the Heart of the City of Iloilo, ASAP! It’s very hard for Ilonggo to process a piece of paper work needed to be done in the right time by commuting Iloilo-Manila is a huge job for every Ilonggo who is acquiring the US Visa, you know what I mean. British and Japanese Embassies are also needed in Iloio City, Philippines as well. I wish that this request will be granted, ASAP! By the help of the City Government of Iloilo, and the City Mayor, Jerry Trenas…this dream will comes true. Thank You! Chy…you did a very good job by posting this website. Again, Thanks and God bless you. Congrats! Very nice!

I am wishing for all the Ilonggos getting a job now and make a good living in the City of Heart, Iloilo. Building up the city is one of the best things to do in our lives, in that case a lot of Ilonggos going back to business and make a good living forever and ever! I wish to God that the prosperous livelihood of Ilonggos will last forever. “DINAGYANG FESTIVAL” is the MOST KNOWN tourists’ attraction in the WHOLE world. I love and proud of myself being a part of it. But guess what, I missed to watch it for a long period of time. In the future, I will going back for a vacation with my entourage, God willing. The FOOD FESTIVAL is the one that makes me nut! Thinking about the delicious foods in the festival, is like I’ve missing a lot in my life! LOL!..Food is good out there. The drums, beats and street dancing in the highlight are AWESOME! oh! I’ve missed those. And by the way, Hello…to my friends out there at St. Elizabeth Center Bowling Alley. This one is also a part of my life …BOWLING! WISH TO COME THERE SOON! Happy “DINAGYANG 2007″!. “HALA BIRA!!!!!”. Okay, thanks a lot of my space in your website Chy and your entourage. God bless yah! Hi Bro!

Thanks for your awesome site! Now we have a place where we can wrap up all the things that we need to have in our beloved Iloilo City, the Heart of the Philippines. I read in your article that the US Chamber of Commerce is planning to invests business in our city, Good Thing! The people in Iloilo City are waiting to have these automatic cars to drive around the city and town. I pray to God that General Motor and Ford Company will pursue their plan to invest these type of cars in the City of Iloilo. I wish to have the factory of these two companies, Ford and GMC to be built in our city. US Chamber of Commerce is one of the biggest non governmental organizations who can help us out rock Iloilo City in the millenium! You know what I’m saying! That’s all I can say for now…regards to all the Ilonggos out there getting ready for the “DINAGYANG FESTIVAL 2007″ HALA BIRA!!!!!The Food Festival rocks! Cheers to all my entourage at Boracay Island! Hey! What’s up guys! “Dinagyang Festival 2007″ is getting close. I am sure that all of you out there are getting reading to hit the road going to the city to watch the street dancing and eat food in the Food Festival. I hear that, been there and experienced such beautiful festival every year. I missed the Christams and New Year celebration too. But, I am trying to come there for a vacation as long as I am ready. I missed the festival for a decade, and I am sure that everything has changed. I was so happy that we have a website like this where we can share our feeling to one another living outside our native land. I really love it here, but there’s a saying goes that “there’s no place like home”. That’s the truth. I hope and pray to God that Iloilo City has the contineuos success in the present and in the future. GOD BLESS ILOILO CITY, PHILIPPINES. Merry Christmas and Prosperous New Year! Thanks for sharing me. Hi!

Glad when US Chamber of Commerce will pursue their plan to put up some business in Iloilo City, Philippines. Like GMC and Ford Company. We need automatic vehicles there too. And besides Iloilo City people are known of convertible jeepney makers in the whole Philippines. And it’s a good thing for Ilonggos. Goodluck!

I don’t see anything wrong with soliciting funds. I mean they’re not twisting my arm. I don’t think it’s unfair at all.

Many people solicit money by just standing in the corner holding a cup.

This website did a beautiful job in their website. They did the work not to mention the website maintenance fees.

Welcome to the world of internet technology.

Lolo Indo …

I’m happy to see my beloved city transforming as well as progressing, but, i’m so frustrated seeing those unregulated slogans, signages, posters, name it, cluters indiscriminately all around the city. On building walls, overpass, bridges, and more.

That issue catched me one time when i saw a site naming Iloilo as a city of signages and posters. Apparently those things catches the attention of our tourist, in a funny and strange way. And it made me feel bad.

I hope that we can change this. I’m not saying that we will not gonna allow or we will gonna stop those things. But, there should be a proper places for them, I don’t know where, I will just leave it to you, sir’s, city adminitrators, as the experts.

Then eventually, the splendid beauty of Iloilo will capture the hearts of our tourist local or international without those annoying eyesores.

I love slogans but they should be where they belong and ilonggos are smart people and we deserved to be treated as one, first by not constantly reminding as of those virtues publicly which made us look stupid.

On the other hand kudos to those who spearhead the beautification of Iloilo river. Keep it up guys!

Iloilo your awesome!

@junefer: For gray sand beaches, there’s some beach resorts in the southern towns of Oton, Guimbal, and San Joaquin. For white sand beaches, most of them are located way up in the northern towns, which are a about a 2-3hour drive.

There’s also the resort island of Guimaras, which is just a 10min boat ride away.

Better if you visit the DOT office beside the Provincial Capitol or the Iloilo Province Tourism Office in the 3rd floor (Provincial Planning and Development Office) of the Iloilo Provincial Capitol. Have fun :)

WOW! ! ! Certainly a great job guys. Just discovered you, and proud to say my heart will always belong to ILOILO and GUIMARAS. . . We have been visiting every year with our triplets thus “TRES AMIGOS” and each time they do not want to come back home.

To all who hope to visit in the future, I would really recommend GUIMARAS but exploring other places adds up to the fun.

SPAIN supposed to be our second home but like their mother my boys heart are more closer to ILOILO and GUIMARAS. It’s nice to be living abroad but it’s also wonderful to think back and give back.

ENJOY THE DINAGYANG. . .

Good day to you sir, a query please…. Could you possibly give us more information about the INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT in ILOILO. Is it to be up and running this April or? Your info will be very much appreciated ‘coz’ it would save a lot of hassles if we can avoid stopping in MANILA altogether.

Well done, ‘VIVA ILOILO’.

Hello TRES AMIGOS.

Thanks for visiting the website. Guimaras is a great place to visit, I too have a lot of memories left in that piece of paradise.

With regards to the airport, it’s already 98% complete and will have its proposed opening in March-April 2007 but will serve domestic flights only. Maybe after 6mos - a few years will it be open to direct international flights

Roots

Hi,
Just a small constructive criticism for the webmaster.
The Google Adsense on the Header/Banner of the index page doesn’t look too good.

I would remove that and move the text to the left or resize the image a little wider to fill up the white space.

Then move the Google adsense below the Archives section on the right column.

Because right now, it looks like you Strategically placed the adsense there to get people to click on it and Google might penalize you for that. It’s in their rules.

Any competitor can report you for doing this.

Just my 2 cents.

Nice site dude.

Hello roots,

Thanks for the comments, I’m currently working on a flash banner to replace the header part altogether. I haven’t finished it yet, but if I do. That ugly ad unit will be removed, and probably moved to another location.

Thanks for the comments

TRES AMIGOS …

Hello there explore ILOILO, I am very intrigue of your donation site and very interested to know what and where do you apply all the help given. Myself spend a lot of time doing all I can for Guimaras which every one can also do.

Yes, I do believe the needy are the last thing on our officials mind yet you can’t blame them to focus on going forward. A group of people need to be appointed to deal with the reality but has to be a very special person(s) for temptation to be selfish once presented with opportunities are very common.

All our kababayans in all parts of the word can play a small part in improving or helping our indigent. So many things we can do if we focus our mind to it and everything is possible.

Our greatest wealth is our health, be it mentally, physically, emotionally and spiritually. We don’t need a lot of money to extend that little bit of help.

To each and every one, we are here for a reason. Each of us are special… It is easy to criticise and look down to others yet ask yourselves why?

Have a nice day and God Speed…

I was not so happy
Being lonely living without you
So i prayed so hard for your love
In my heart i needed you
Then i looked up in the sky
And im thinking why oh why
These are all the many changes in my life

After all the caring and the laughter
No one is like you
I am not a preacher with a sermon
Im so in loved with you
Coz to live without your love
Like the sun that shines above
Is the magic of the changes in my life

And i never forget your love
You and i we were meant to be
Sweet as rain falling from the sky, you and i
These are all the many changes in my life

Listen to these words i want to give you
On our love so true
Dont forget i love you and i need you
I’ll always be with you
So just look up in the sky
And you’ll find out why oh why
These are all the many changes in my life

Chorus
These are all the many changes
These are all the many changes
These are all the many changes in my life

Chorus
These are all the many changes
These are all the many changes
These are all the many changes in my life

March-April I’ll be there. Let’s see what can I do that I feel business is inviting me in my birthplace then I can help my fellow Ilonggo. By the way my first book just published last dec.2006 by The London Press (424 pages). The title is “The Messages” miscellaneous prose and poetry by Laureana cacho Sheppard. Available worldwide online, Amazon, or to order in bookshops (UK). My poetry is about my true life experiences, in which I managed to cope with the many tragedies in my life, through my faith, hope, love, trust and determination. This is my testimony of God’s power and love. My poetry relates the messages and prophecies I have received through my dreams, of which most of them have already come true. I have also written how I know and understand God, what’s happening around us that affect our everyday lives, my words of wisdom, foods for thought and inspirational. My poetry have already helped and inspired many people of different nationalities around the world.

Liza,

I agree with yah! Me neither do not like to compete. I do what I please, and I do what I want to do. I just keep on going, to make things surreal. SM Iloilo City been there for a long time. I was in high school when SM was built. Now, I have a 24 years old daughter here with me in the US. See?!!! Cheers! :)

i wish that Ayala Corporation will win in the bidding of Old Mandurriao airport, and build the Twin Towers in the lot where the old airport was located, like in Madaluyong. Cheers! :)
