Online newspapers, especially the local ones, are now focusing on the developmental updates in the Guimaras Oil Spill. To spread the awareness on the 8-11 disaster, I will be posting the links to the news articles so that everyone will be updated (If only I have the time to write about it myself, sigh). Here’s the April 25 roundup (The links will open in a new page. Some of the links may not work, when the websites update new content. )

I agree with you gayle. Habang maaga pa kinahanglan mahatagan na sg action para inde na maglala ang problema. Ang aton gobyerno nagahimo naman sng mga tikang kon paano ma solve ang problema. One of it is to syphon the bunker oil by using the pump. The government hire the norwegian based company Frank Mohn which is the biggest supplier of pumps worldwide. Some of their costumers are the biggest shipping companies carrying oil, and chemicals etc. I personaly operates and overhauled this pumps, after a long days of seminars and trainings in Norwegian Training Center. In our case here in guimaras, tam an ine sya ka budlay i syphon ang bunker by the use of this pump due to some reason: the temperature of heavy fuel oil;the length of pipes to be use(more than 500ft below)Daw ka imposible nga mag butang ka heating sa idalom dagat. Some of the officials nag hambal nga e refloat ang vessel ukon sementuhon. Hulaton ta na lng ang desisyon nila, of course we need a big amount of money to fixed this problem.

The government must be more alert towards this matter. it is not only the livelihood of the people that is at risk but also the preservation of our countries natural resources. The oil spill cost a lot of damage to our environment thus it will be very difficult for us to restore the balance of our ecosystem.

What the government should do now is act and leave first the blaming towards one another. instead of debating who’s fault it is, they rather put there heads togeather in helping clean up the oil spill before it may may get worst esp. in the near by regions of guimaras. The oil spill will not only affect the people sorrounding it but also our countries economical standing as well as trade and agriculture.
