BACOLOD City – Governors from 16 provinces met at the Provincial Capitol of Negros Occidental yesterday and discussed the construction of bridges linking Cebu, Bohol, Negros, Leyte and Panay. They call it the Trans-Visayas Friendship Bridges.
The governor suggested having an alternative route in Tumungtong, EB Magalona going to Banate, Iloilo.
Marañon said the Guimaras-Pulupandan Bridge would be 22 kilometers. The EB Magalona-Banate route would be at least five kilometers shorter.
Estimated cost of the bridges is about P1 billion for every kilometer.
