Here are new pictures of the ongoing construction of the 164MW coal fired power plant in Brgy. Ingore, La Paz, Iloilo City. The P14 billion private investment, the biggest in the City’s history, is expected to augment the power deficit in Iloilo City and Panay Island and is due for completion by 2011.

Mas lalo tayong madaling mamatay pagwalang pagkain at trabaho kaya Welcome investors to Iloilo. I know Iloilo is very potential for bussiness.
Go for Coal!!!!. Iloilo will move Fast Forward. Now Na!!!
This may seems a industrial development leap in Iloilo but the coal-fired power plant in some developing countries are still under study and some are replaced with wind, water or nuclear power plants.
The new technology in burning coal, is claimed, the exhaust is clean and safe for the environment, is due to the fact that, this fuel is cleaned with chemicals before it is delivered to the site.
The mining of coal is very destructive to the environment and the chemicals used in cleaning it are not safer to this world.
Our mountains, forests, birds, trees and other unique breathing species, which are part of our billion years of evolution, will be forever gone because of this destruction and that includes us…sooner.
Remember that every time you flick the light switch on from the coal fired power plant, hundreds of living and non-living things are gone behind the scene…forever.
Did you know that Cebu has already 3 Coal Power Plants.
hey, i’ve been to mabalacat lately, its true, theres no black smoke coming from coal plants there. they are planning to make the same plant as the one in mabalacat. then theres green fields all over the plant you would not know its a coal plant, the place is so neat. iloilo would have excess electricity for a few years, then come in megaworld corporation, and other investors.
there will be lesser pollution than the current DIESEL power plant Panay Power uses. do your research Ulysses. its clean coal technology.
ah basta itayo nyo yan Iloilo, pag hindi huli natalaga kayo sa ibang mga city sa pinas dahil kulang ang kuryente nyo.I know Iloilo City is very potential for bussiness mas marami ang maka trabaho pagnatayo yan. pag may enough na pera na sa huli dyian kayo magisip kong ano ano ang ibang alternatibo nyo sa ngayon kailangan nyo yan para makatrabaho ang marami nyong graduates diyan dahil isa kayo na may pinaka magaling na schools sa bansa. Kailangan ng Iloilo ang supply para may trabaho. hindi ang kong ano ano ,marami ng progressive countries in the world na ang source of electricity power plant. Isulong nyo yan ILOILO.
Remember people, the investors to this coal plant will not be breathing the air you breath. They will reap the profits at your expense. I do not think that this a step in the right direction for the City of Iloilo without considering other alternative sources of energy that is less harmful to the environment.
It seems that the opening of the coal fired power plant in Iloilo will not be delayed. Just goes to prove that when the government has enough political will improvements and progress for the city and country will be fast. I hope that they would not make the plant a permanent or long term solution for the energgy problem in the island. As we all know coal is a very strong pollutant for the environment. So we hope that soon the city government would be able to provide alternative energy solution which is more cost-efficient, and renewable. please do not get me wrong, we believe in progress and development, just not one that would destroy and endanger Mother earth and most especially us, her “protectors”.
