Lats September I had guests from Manila and we all stayed at the GRAND HOTEL.
We were surprised to find the hotel rates budget friendly.they had a PhP 1800/night dorm type room with 6-8 beds ideal for big groups.Their single bed acocmodation is at 550 and their double bed for 895.
Since we onyl need a room to sleep and bathe we took the 2 bed room and just added another bed for 250.
Service was great from the additional bed to the refrigerator (150/night).Location wise, its just as convenient as the others though may be be located in such a “posh” disctrict yet it has its own flair inside out.Its near the handicraft section of the central market, a 5-minute walk from a budget friendly grocery and department store (gaisano) and the dried fish section of the market where one can buy dried squid to fish tocino to danggit.
Never had the chance to taste what it has to offer but we’re surprised to know that they had a dimsum buffet.
here’s a link to some photos

Hello! I`m from butuan city. i would just like to ask if your Hotel in Iloilo ( grand hotel ) will be the host for the Teachers Congress on Nov. 26-27, 2007. How can we get there if we will ride in a ship from pier to your hotel? or from airport to your hotel?please e-mail your reply asap to lizirishng@yahoo.com.ph thank you very much.
I think it would be better to contact them through phone instead. From the pier it’s just a 10-15 ride by taxi you could also ride a jeepney named “Jaro CPU” which passes by the pier. You will then ask the driver to drop your off at corner J.M. Basa and Aldeguer streets (it’s better to tell the driver that you’ll be going to the Iloilo Grand Hotel). Just follow Alderguer Street (passing by the Central Market) and you’re there.
do you have summer cooking classes and dancing classes?

Hi,
Can you give me a price quote for 1 day reservation on Nov 25, 1 room 2 guests 1 bed. need to get this confirmed asap. thanks.
i inquire a while ago through phone call at iloilo grand hotel and i encounter a bad attitude front desk named NICK..nagtatanong ako regarding sa rooms nila at ang sungit nya..ung ganyan ung attitude nya ipapakita i assure mawawalan kayo ng guest bastos sya..pasensya kung nadistorbo ko ung tulog mo but i hve the right to ask coz im ur regular guest for almost 3yrs already..i want the hr to have action regarding this matter..
We got the same treatment. They are not customer-friendly. The one who answered us, talked in a relatively strange language which we can’t understand.. Their personnel are also arrogant same as with Nick
We’ll be visiting Bacolod and iloilo from May 20 to 23. Pls recommend a cheap but clean hotel. We are 5 adults and 1 kid (6yo). Much better if we’ll all stay in 1 big room.
Thanks.
A Happy Moment Turned Into a Disaster
18th of March 2011, Friday in a Hotel at Iznart Street Iloilo City
It was a humid day but all I can see were happy and excited faces. I sensed that today will mark another chapter of my life; I’m not just sure if it will be a good or bad chapter though. The warm atmosphere gently sank in me and my feelings were heightened when I saw several familiar faces. As the hotel’s lobby was quickly filled with people, I started to get uncomfortable and just wanted that everything should start and finish right away. The function room then opened and keyed up people started to rush inside and tried to grab a seat. This was the time that we’ve been waiting for, the time when we will have the chance to take our pledge formally as certified nurses of the Philippines. This was our first step towards the battleground for nurses, encountering a different environment of competition.
The program started well and went smoothly. I had a chance to talk with several old friends and I enjoyed hearing their stories and sharing mine as well. Maybe just an hour or two before the program ended, meals were served. People were so busy with a lot of things especially with eating. That sounded like fun right but the sad thing was there were many people who still don’t have their meal and haven’t eaten yet. Unfortunately I belonged to that group. I started by just waiting patiently on my chair. After that, I tried to make a joke regarding the situation so that people won’t feel uneasy. Afterwards I felt that there was really something going wrong. I then stood up to get the attention of some of the service crews. The one giving the food asked us if we can still wait for a while and we just replied with a yes politely. Several more minutes passed by but nothing were served to us. Now I can hear several angry people and I do have a clue why they were angry. About 20 minutes after, still no signs of something to be served yet. We then decided to go to the kitchen and checked out if there were really meals prepared for us. Somebody said that they weren’t expecting quite a huge number of guests so the foods that they prepared were not enough. We waited at the kitchen’s entrance together with the other hungry guests. I was in the front most of the line but I was wondering why those guys were not giving me anything. I just let it go for a while but after several batches of giving food to other guests without them giving me any I then got angry. It was as if they were making me look stupid. They were sort of pretending that they don’t see me even though I’m quite a big guy. I wasn’t able to contain my anger any longer so I asked them for someone whom I can complain to regarding their service. Without getting any response from them I instantly felt my feet and hands shaking and my chest having the sensation of bursting in any moment. What I did then was I went to the hotel’s front desk and look for the manager. I told the three women who were there that I can’t stand the not-so-good service that they have, that I don’t care with the food anymore and that what I want was for them to be aware of the hotel’s poor service. Immediately I went out of the hotel so as to avoid any more trouble.
It wasn’t the first time that I experienced such bad service from them. I really just wish that they can do something about that for them to give better service to their customers. What if tourists would also encounter such treatment and service from them? Will tourists just hate us or even the city just because of such practice? I really do hope that this will be an eye-opener to them. To the management of Iloilo Grand Hotel I’m one of your dissatisfied customers for the second time around.
Ambot na ya sa ila.. Kwarta lang na ila ya lagas guro..Its all about the money lang man gid na yah eh. Ano man yah labot sina kung gutom ka kay busog na ila yah bulsa. Kasuluya klase ni nga hotel..
Why do people still post and ask about contact numbers and reservations? It’s right up there!
It’s pretty clear from the homepage that this is a BLOG and NOT the hotel’s webpage.
@golden7_2
So it’s better that people don’t tell other people about the quality of service in this particular establishment?
Conscience for what? For being honest and telling it like it is?
Seems like you work for the Hotel.
Glad I found out about this. We were looking around for Hotels to accommodate our out of town acquaintances. Guess this place isn’t going to cut it.
Thanks for allowing comments Admin!
do you have Grand Hotel’s email address or cellphone number?
hays…. too much of venting here…
Very dissatisfied with their service.
Their staff is way to dumb… They can’t comprehend simple instructions. You have to repeat them over and over again. Kahuluya para sa guests namon. We agree with our guests that to stay out of this hotel and don’t avail any of their services.
Hire intelligent staff please. Indi ang mga palak palak bala
To those that will hurt sorry! i just want to remind that please think before you click 100 times so that your conscience will free from worries. If you guys have grievances, report directly to the management so that solution to the problem will be carry over, this way is a win-win solution for the hotel and other customers who knows there might be your family or friends….(“,)
anyway venting the experience may be good chance for hotel to improve and for betterment of service… always be optomistic.. whenever theres problem..theres oppurtunity that is opened…
