Not only Leon is rich in natural resources but the entire parts of Philippine archipelago. The reason why we have these beautiful trees and bountiful crops….. Floods or drought could be well avoided should the government act relentlessly on preserving those trees and continually exercise tree planting.

jolly, if you have seen from the ranking based on total income as shown above, Oton was way ahead which garnered 72,007,690 while Leon had only around 57,446,670. Perhaps what you were saying was the percentage rate of their income based from last year.

I just hope that the provincial gov’t will fix the road going to Leon with markings. And additional Concrete Road going to Bucari and Tabionan. Makita guid ang lunangon nga karsada. Landslide kon maulanon. I wish the Governor will get the message. Cheers! :)

My Mom is from Leon. Leon is the largest mango producer in whole Panay Island, then rice and veggies. Some fruits like guava, sarguelas, melon, sandiya and others. The town of Leon is very rich in natural resources. The reason why is number one in income. Cheers! :)

i totally agree with you jan…i don’t know if you’ve experienced the time when bananas are planted in the middle of the roads because they’re too muddy for vehicles to pass? this happens specially during rainy seasons. I really wonder where all the municipal income goes. Even the District 1 congressman couldn’t have the paving of the concrete road in Buray Oton finished…leaving less than 200 meters of unpaved strip from Florvel Subd. to Ilaya proper. It takes eons just to have the road connecting at least 6 Baranggays to the town proper concretised. Okey pa ang going to Florvel, it only took a few months….iya b sang mayor ang subivision project mo!!!!
…and they get to have their names posted on big billboards claiming credit for the project. Hey Pres. Arroyo…you also get to have your picture posted by your corrupt subordinates! The income of the municipality goes to….the municipal drain pipes…the ones we vote during elections.

It’s my first time to know that my hometown has the highest income. I thought we’re the lowest since I could not see any visible infrastructure projects here. Until now, the roads going to the barangays are not cemented. They could not even finish the drainage canals in the poblacions. What’s wrong?

Dumangas should be in the third place, I guess:

    3. Lambunao - 65,118,760 [3]
    4. Dumangas - 65,786,320 [4]

Nice to see the ranking of Iloilo Top Towns. Again, congratulations to Oton for topping the list. Looks like Oton will be hitting 80 to 85 million income in 2008. Expect more in Oton with the expansion of Savannah, the entry of Camella-Palmera and the Acropolis.

In saying so, Sta Barbara newest entry proves that the town is making waves in terms of economy right now beating Pavia and all. We’ll wait and see for next year list na lang.
