Lambunao excites its visitors, with its various wildlife species at the “Mariit Conservation Park” located at West Visayas State UniversityDangag – Native Pikoy College of Agriculture and Forestry at Barangay Jayubo. In its care are 51 of two critically endangered hornbill species: Dolongan (Visayan Writhe Hornbill) and Panay Tariktik Hornbill. The Conservation Center also provides resources for the breeding of White Spotted Deer and Visayan Warty Pig which are exported to San Diego Zoo, California. Endangered species like cloud rats and spotted deers have gained national exposure when it was once featured in ABS-CBN’s Magandang Gabi Bayan hosted by Noli de Castro and Studio 23′s Team Explorer hosted by former Congressman Juan Miguel Zubiri. Other endangered species found in the center are native pikoy – “Dangag” (Racquet Tail Parrot), Malayan Palm Civet, Leopard Cat, ‘Banog’ (hawk) and many others.
