Could the recent revived activity at the “New Iloilo City Hall” site be a consequence of the election campaign of certain politicians? More likely so, nonetheless, it’s a welcome development since it has long been a clamor of Ilonggos to have the New City Hall completed after more than a year of delays.
Clearing works have already begun and the perimeter fence put up. Hopefully, actual construction of the multi-storey building will start soon and completed after 18 months, as planned and promised.
The Iloilo City Hall, is the first all precast concrete building in Iloilo City done by Freyssinet Philippines (FF Cruz sub companies). This innovation of building construction is much faster than in-situ construction.
