During the committee hearing on the P17.6 billion budget of the Department of Transportation and Communication (DOTC) for 2007, Drilon said the allocation submitted for the new airport in Iloilo was at P2.712 billion.
The three-storey passenger terminal, about 12,000 square meters in floor area, houses the baggage conveyor on the first floor, check-in area and the airline offices on the second floor, pre-departure area on the third, and arrival area along the corridors that lead to the first floor. The airport can accommodate six aircrafts simultaneously parking at a time. Air navigation systems, including a radar area, are also in place.
“Iloilo, whose airport has the fourth highest passenger traffic in the country, will benefit from the influx of tourists and investors once the new airport becomes operational in March 2007,” Drilon said.

ay!!! happy gid ko nga sa March 2007 na ma abri ang bag-o nga airport. salamat kag hindi na ko mag stop over pa sa manila. tama-tama gid ni kay deretso na lang amon nga flight from vegas to iloilo sa aug 2007. guin link ta na ka sa site ko! :)
I wish nga ang proposal to have a direct flights from Europe to Iloilo will be realised. Tani diri lang sa amon sa London maumpisa. Go Iloilo !
oo man gani tani… the new airport is well suited to be an international airport because of the number of OFWs in Panay Island and the increasing number of foreign tourist visiting Panay, well … mostly Boracay ;)
i doubt if it will carry euro trans pacific flights,probably asian flights will reasonable outside of asia i doubt, it maybe not for now but hopefully in the near future.
