i’m so delighted to see this famous “Lumpatan” (from the Ilonggo word ‘lumpat’ or hop) in Bagotao to where we often go for swimming and fun, lalo na ‘pag SanJuan! and even on ordinary days..siyempre taga Bagotao ini. and to tell you, may ginlubong dira nga tao sa kuweba nadagsa sa lawod pagbagyo sang Undang…dugay na man to ah. Thanks for posting this photo anyway!
I really enjoyed my time in Lumpatan … do people really jump the cliff from there? the waves are kind of rough during our visit so we didn’t bother trying.
im not sure if someone has tried jumping on the cliff, unless otherwise, a stuntman can possibly do or someone wanted to end his life. lol! i guess they called it lumpatan because of the passage going through the next barangay, that you need to jump on the rocky road for you to pass. one more thing, people who went there are fond of diving from top of the rock alongside the water. we mean for dive and jump as ‘lumpat’. weird?! : )
