Bulubadiangan or “sandbar island” is a popular island attraction in Concepcion, Iloilo. Many local and foreign tourists visit Sandbar Island for its clear blue waters and long shifting white sandbar, which would shift from left to right depending on the direction of the wind. It is ideal for swimming, snorkeling, fishing, and just about any water recreation activity. The island also offers a great view of the outlying islands of Concepcion, including the majestic Mt. Manaphag in Pan de Azucar Island.

Visitors can really commune with the beauty of nature in Sandbar Island because of its relative isolation and minimal development. Similarly named, the Sandbar Island Beach Resort is the only accommodation in the small island. A few nipa huts are available for visitors who would want to spend a night in Sandbar Island Beach Resort. Each hut can fit 4 – 10 people and can be rented for only P800. Electricity on the island only lasts until 9pm. There are bathrooms but the water is quite salty. Visitors also have to bring their own food and either have them cooked in the resort or cook the food themselves.
The cottages of Sandbar Island Beach Resort
When planning for your trip in Sandbar Island Beach Resort be sure contact the resort or the Concepcion Tourism Office for your transportation arrangements. It is accessible by a passenger boat plying the area at 10:00AM daily. For a group of 10 persons and above, hiring a chartered boat from the resort would be advisable. Travel time is approximately 20 to 30 minutes.

unfortunately, I don’t have any contact numbers yet. It would be best if you contact the DOT office beside the Capitol or ask the Provincial Tourism Office in the 3rd floor of the Iloilo Provincial Office.
I know someone who has a private resort on this place, this is a great place, you will love this unspoiled beauty.
If you love seafood this is the place where you have to go, fresh and cheap.

I was there in Iloilo City last Christmas of ’07 and went back home to the US last January of ’08. I visited my family in Molo. We had family reunion in Alubihod, Guimaras island, and I am planning to go back probably next year. I loved Alubihod very much, and the whole family enjoyed the blasts. Yanno what, we have beautiful beaches all over Panay Island, I should say..we are gifted! Boracay Island is now all over the globe. Concepcion island has a lot to offer, Sicogon rocks, Gigantes island is awesome, Phaidon beach is gorgeous, and Guimaras Island is stunningly BEAUTIFUL! IF, I win the Lotto here, I would prefer to build a hotel in one of the hot spots of Guimaras. Cheers! ; )

my son is joining the shell chess tournament in iloilo city this weekend, sat and sun. how far is concepcion from iloilo city.
we will be arriving on fri 3pm and will be leaving on mon 2 pm. and we are looking for a nice beach resort from sun pm to mon am before we return to manila.

the sand bar island is a great place to unwind yourself. such great beauty is so captivating. It does not only give you the peace of mind but also a sanctuary for a unstable mind. the water was so cool and the sight is so fascinating. i wish i own the place…hahaha….i was there fro our seminar..even though i did spent a lot, i was satisfied by the beauty that it gave me. what a place. by the way……thank you sir sa nagdaha sang amun food for our stay sa resort…thank you…namit guid and nylon shell…thank you pastor…..

Hi there Mario. My family is planning to have our reunion on May 2011, and sandbar was introduced to us by some friends. More or less there will be 50 people coming over from Iloilo, Cebu, Davao and Mindanao.I would like to know if there will be cottages available to house our guests for 2 nights 3 days at the most. Another concern is the peace and order. Will there be people from the resort who will stay there for the whole day to see through the needs of the guests? And do we have parking area where we can leave our vehicles safely while we stay in the island? And such other concerns like entrance fee, rentals for the cottages, boat fare and other things that we have to pay.

Sandbar Island Beach Resort is really one of a kind! I definitely love the view if it’s high tide. It seems like you are walking on the ocean. I hope the local government could also help develop the back of the island which is a potential tourist destination as well.
