ok….. Central Philippine University Elementary School was the best of all the Private Elementary and Christian (Protestant and Roman Catholic) Schools. CPUES was accredited Level III by Association of Christian Schools, Colleges and Universities in Asia (ACSCUA). Kung ipa eskwela mo ang bata mo, Sa CPU nalang!. The facilities are great. CPU is a Protestant university of higher learning and well rounded values and Christian motifs. For the facilities CPU has the Western Visayas largest aquatics center or swimming pool, A big gymnasium, Philippines 3rd largest library, prominent flower and a butterfly gardens, tree parks, a university food court (somewhat the students of CPU called a mall), CPU fitness center, Prayer garden.
The 24 hectares campus of CPU was declared as a tourism site by the Iloilo City Council. CPU has also a farm in Zarraga, Iloilo. (CPU Zarraga Farm.)
Also, every month of December, Central opens it’s campus to all holiday enthusiast to take advantage or to watch the opening of “Festival of Lights and Music at Central”. A month long (from 1st week of December to 1st week of January) festive of Holiday lights, music and fair.
As a Christian school, every semester CPU celebrates “Christ- Emphasis Week”. Before the end of the the year, CPU celebrate “Thanksgiving” to God via the Thanksgiving Service which is also accompanied by the university Ministers and Pastors (They are also the speakers of the said convocation.)

Hello Sing a song, we must congratutate each one for contributing to our country. if theres 20 people in PUJ ( all ages) , congratulate them, thier pennies contributes to oil that is taxable 12% vat , and corporate tax.( 22% or something). all usual commodities every household consume like Sugar , poultry , livestocks, rice , fruits , vegetables were subject to be taxed and deposited to government. every person who consumed water , electricity ,internet , phones were taxed in certain way.If you sum these all up, rich and poor or middle class, young and old contributes to make the pockets of government into a fat cat . Billions and Billion every single day every hour and every minute and second. thats how the government sucked all the money and the government claims ownershep to everything you and me and them possessed.
one should have control over thier money let not money make them uncontrollable to squander here and there. Living below the means is dictom so one will not end up a deadbeat . to put it in simple way is Asset ( including Home Equity) should not be exceeded by liabelities ( loans , mortgage etc). Investment is driven by motives of ” profits”. One should have a viable financial plan and management.

@Kilgore, Even States and Europe perspective based on your claim classify all schools in Iloilo as all-accepting , they keep on hiring Filipinos in every field of work . (usually skilled workers .) works they most likely to turn down. Those extremely selective schools are schools that has been established its name from Medeival. Intellectual schools or Research Schools and very few people would choose it. its for genius . or bookworm people… who spend time most likely all by himself to read, observed , hypotesized in 4 corners of wall or laboratory and go down in history such as those who have theoricized psychology , genetics , biology , astronomy, anthropology, sociology, economics, and so on … Asia has very competetive universities, producing brilliant minds on technology and engeneerring , so you see great design of cars are being produced in Japan, Korea , etc . Fastest computer goes to China. Financial experts are ubuiquitos in Hongkong and Singapore …
In the States and in Europe, they classify universities according to: extremely selective (only 11 % of the applicants are taken in); very selective; moderately selective; selective; anything less than that amounts to an open admissions university–the equivalent of all universities in Iloilo except UPV. Come on, get real….
Let this serve as a lesson to all of us: Whether you like it or not, majority of the people out there (employers, colleagues) judge us by the schools we attend. Kita mo man na guro magbukas ka sang Qualified Ads section sang national papers. I’m afraid, no Iloilo school–except for UP–is ever mentioned among the “preferred” applicants. I worked in Manila for 12 years before moving to the UK, where I worked for another 4 years. And every time I sat for an interview (in Manila) I’d be asked, “Where is that school?” Sad to say, extremely few people in Manila–mostly old company owners who graduated in the 70s– know where San Agustin is (my school); sadder still for most Iloilo schools–including CPU. The one thing that many of my interviewers recall about San Agustin is her law, chemical engineering, pharmacy,med tech graduates and her Liberal Arts program. I believe San Agustin offered one of the oldest and most demanding Liberal Arts programs in the country, along with Manila’s elite colleges. That’s why people in the know in Manila and elsewhere talk about the “old” San Agustin. I’m not sure about the present one, though.
CPU has a decent Engineering college. A lot of it’s graduates are taken in by companies in Manila, Japan, Singapore, etc. There are also hiring managers vising the college yearly.
I believe they also have a partnership with a university in the US, which I think it was Milwaukee( I’m not sure on which state it was).
St Paul’s and West Visayas have high standards when it comes to Nursing. One of the best in the country. Although in the US it doesn’t matter that much when it comes to Nursing, they care more
about experience.
I do agree about the brand of school. This is more on entry level jobs though. As you gain experience most companies just look at your experience and projects. I’m speaking from an engineering background though.
@mariomar, I believe since UP is espoused with the idea it has dominance on ” Intellectual Ground” , But it’s very unwise to label the educational capacity of each school , the ingredient is in externals ” Quality Education ” and essentially innate to the students itself , it converged making it into superior outcome in Engineering, Nursing, Medicine, Education. School is just like 10% of what you need to know there is in specific courses, 90% is gained and enhanced through practice of it, its always the student that makes up the name of the school not vice versa so its quite not uncommon many excel in school outside UP …. logically.. not all are born or self-made genius goes to UP, so School of genius is not ALL-UP , UP doesn’t equate to ALL-Genius or ALL-winners story , we cannot compete with Top Asian Universities since what determines it is the economy… only the developed countries rank top 20 you must know why … Budget on Research that amounts to millions of dollars on Science and Technology … so they devised their own criteria right? — If you’re sitting with Korean , Japanese , Indian , Chinese , Australian , I believe you wont be left behind in logical , rational and intellectual opinions of things like where is China in the map or how do we digest carbohydrate…

I just hope that we will properly utilize our edge as the region with very good learning institutions. unemployment rate is high although there’s a lot of demand for call center jobs out there. I believe Ilonggos in general are good in English, we just have to improve our fluency and accent. Reinforcing the teaching of English language in schools doesn’t make you less of a patriot, if it’s the tool that we need to give us jobs that can provide food for our family, then why not?

The only English that I learned was the one we had way back in high school. I was lucky enough to pass UPCAT with a low grade in english sir. English is not our cup of tea here sir. In a way Hiligaynon speaking people are the more respected persons in UP. We try to build our foundations of that dialect to train oour students for the coming self sufficiency that I had mentioned earlier.
Yes, definitely its not an excuse as you expect us to speak and write correct English. Then I would present this organized reasons that I would be presenting to justify my errors in my previous comments.
1. this is not a composition class, if this is, then i would really bother myself to edit or even just review my work.

mas pina easy pa ang pagkuha sang exam subung, as a Walk in exam sang PRC , sa subung sa maritime muna but in the following year basi sa iban naman nga mga profesions, requirements, compete your sea service and a OS, AB, not included ang messman and GP. secure lang kamo sang Sea service form sa PRC iloilo or manila before mag sakay kay ano na ang fill upan nyo sa barko onboard and the same time sa Logbook, nyo, walk in exam makuha na minimum 1 month review lang unlike written exam nga 3 months ang review, and seguraduhay gid na yah. if fail ka fail gid na, if pasar pasar gid na , unlike written nga kuhaon pa ang median sabi nila, 70% lang ang kuhaon sa mga nakapasar , in my own knowledge bisan pasar kapa lagpok ka man gihapon if dala ka. for ch officer also, its very nice, but be sure ka mag review kamo kay ang review center amo ang ga upload sang application nyo sa prc , puede man kamu mag apply onlne but nami gid and 90% ka nga confident ka sa exam mo, take note: 98% ang gakapasar sa walk in exam, not a problem kung mahina ka, review ka lang in 5 month (not one month) kuha mo gid na, but make sure lang gid ,, lantawaon mo man sa self mo kung qualifying ka man nga mag risk to tale exam. in the end ikaw man gihapon ang ag suffer sa barko kung wala ka kabalo sa ginahimo mo, good luck and god speed,

I could also recommend to you West Visayas State University, it’s a government-run institution and what I know, they got one of the best training in elementary education. Regarding nursing, I know that WVSU also offers Master of Arts in Nursing. Just lately, I knew that they have the PhD in Nursing – they are one of the only 3 schools in the country offering PhD in Nursing. Tuition is low and they have a university hospital that serves as the training hospital for their students.
I suggest you check the website. If the course is not posted in it, just get their number and call the office of the Dean of the College of Nursing. I assure you of the best nursing education at the WVSU. Thank you.

You’re right, WVSU is the center of excellence (Education) in Western Visayas. I earned 12 from WVSU which serve as my weapon to enter UPLB. And I’m proud to be an Ilonggo. As a matter of fact I impart my knowledge to some Tagalog here in our company. I always stressed that Ilonggo’s adapted correct English. The laugh once they heard us saying such triangle ( triyangol ) etc. So I explained that as of now such words are considered as regional idendity. When you hear pipol saying ( triyangol ) simply shows they are from Visayas regions and pipol saying ( triyangel ) from NCR. And besides Ilonggo people adapted correct English.I cite example elite people like Kris Aquino,Juluis Babao , the pride of Iloilo, Miriam Defensor and even Hollywood newscaster.And we’re seven Ilonggo’s here in the office,came from 2-WVSU,2-CPU,WVCST,CDJ and me from NIPSC Estancia.Proud to say we have all higher position in the office. Two of us are designated as Team Captain..We must be proud being Ilonggo….

West Visayas State. Univ. the uni.. I could recommend with out batting an eye lash.. anyways.. Try this Univ..you will be in loved… after.. Not that their perfect.. Professors there know what they are being impated to every recepient with utmost regard to human side of any individual….in short.. You will be taught with the best pedagogy in the city….KEEP IT UP WEST vi.. By the way I took my MA in PUP I finished my undergrad in LCC and STI Manila……..for the record.
