Tenants have already opened up shop in SM City Iloilo’s newest development called Southpoint. To the delight of Ilonggo consumers, Starbucks Coffee and La Mesa Grill started its operations last month while Stavros’ Kebab and Mediterranean House is set to open within the next few weeks. Here’s a photo update of the new stores at SM City Iloilo Southpoint:

Stavros Kebab & Mediterranean House under construction in SM City Iloilo Southpoint

@mur2 where are you?
Very nice place. Stavros was all right but spicy if you liked that. The coffee shop seems expensive than gas haha It’s nice though that the young people have someplace safe to make tambay.
Tama…. Customers do not after only for food but they also prefer a cool and relaxing place. Convenience matters most for the customers to enjoy.
very nice place.ing compare 2 our city.
very nice place la na gid maka compare sang aton city.
@fewzam…. its just the same they are on the same area… the southpoint is just structure on the southern part of course of main building SM City Mandurriao…
Just wanted to know if SM City Manduriao is different from this so-called SM City Iloilo Southpoint? I’m an Ilonggo from Zamboanga City, Mindanao.
@mur2s…no no no… rages and riots swept across USA beaches and downtowns just recently at almost the same week in June… you know that??… I just want to enjoy not to get caught with those…
@mur2s… see you at Beach antonia…. lol….
sa miami beach lang ukon sa spratly para mas malapit.
ok, guys, we should stop throwing these negative comments, we should be happy for the improvement of iloilo, its our pride, its our homeland, lets help one another to prosper, no room for detractors please, improve…improve and improve…go my lovely iloilo
cant wait to see my hometown improving so fast, thats we need, productivity, we should help each other for the betterment of our lovely iloilo, go iloilo….
@lulu i agree…. theres always something to do really in Iloilo… if you are young single and free… sky is the limit to get crazy and have fun.. to fool around at night and be very happy :)on the day to scream on the beaches or to camp…..
vic-forgot to mention also the lamesa grill bar and stavros kebab too, thats a fantastic site and had to offer everything that we wanted for our days out and about in the city. It’s a brilliant city bringing a lot of entrepeneurs into the area.
@lulu specifically the South-point yeah …. a place to live happily and peacefully , a place to work to have fun , what could we ask for more with that? truly that’s the reason we should have proud for it… for me nothing else matters… Iloilo is “truly amazing”…. hahahahaha…. all my memories are built upon this truly fantastic place of very terrific people , soooooo delicious foods and soooo goood to live and have fun with abundance of nature and soothing beaches, etc , and many many other stuffs …
during our visit in smcity 2yrs ago starbuck coffee wasn’t there yet,so am glad too hear that and looking forward to dine with my family there, next year. We(ilongos)are proud of our city, isn’t it.
anyone knows the operating hours of starbucks?
@mur2s… unfortunately i have no access to delete hateful comments , but i had to plan to be moderator…. i find marcus blog helpful and good venue to speak our mind ( ilongos ) we are granted by the republic to speak our thought freely… and you know what about sm? they are about to built convention center in bacolod!!! look all of national office are here and conduct their meeting here..its absurd to position convention center away from Iloilo…well its their choice…maybe…they doesn’t care of “return of investment” sooner in iloilo than Bacolod City… whats your thought mur2s?
@ mur2s so you have not answered at least one of my question… no use to follow your commands on telling the owner what you wish me to do… you read my comments? if in a lighter note..thank you.. but if you dissect them just to squeeze something out there and keep on hitting me just because its too logical intellectual and infuriating… i expect that :) lol.. as for now..i give you time to think what you gonna say and i will be waiting not impatiently… nevertheless,,, eagerly.. as i would always wanted to hear from people who track my post
@ mur2s , after i read your comment i was quite puzzled of many things that it promted me to ask you several questions i need to know whats on your mind, firstly, you might have been thoroughly think before you speak that way or you reacted out of impulsiveness of yours?…. secondly, you want me to do something to please you?…third fact i want you to tell me frankly, am I usurping his website and whats your grounds to say that?….forth which needs your keen rational thinking, which is looks prolific, to see extensive activity in a a forum…. or a forum with no dialogue i might have been contributed and spark conversations?—– i am eagerly wanting to hear from you, or you might hit-and-run this… it’s your choice if you prefer to have no follow-up dialogue…..
lastly, dont call me names, i would never do the same with you…. if you see me here call people names, please do qoute me…. cant wait to hear from you soon….
im here reading all your comments. i would not be a hit and run like what you are thinking. as long as the owner of the site would allow me i will keep on posting.
vic you sound so macho and fearless like trees that bravely faces the elements both nature and man can offer. i like your style putting an end to all these discussions – end of story. but remember every ending will have a new beginning so i want you to tell the owner of this site that you are taking his place, muscle man.
@ all—- stop the locking of horns to each other SMCity is among malls with many trees especially at the back, you cannot see like those in Mall of Asia, one of the biggest Mall around the world—–Iloilo has full of trees and supporting the planting of trees as its own initiative to deter ” climate change”– end of story… any complain?whine ? rant? violent reaction? message me when you can
i love all sm malls! they always have everything that you could possibly need there! http://www.flyseair.com/node/307
@Ming: I agree, at this point green-based architecture meaning the incorporation of landscape gardens and greenery is has to make a headway in our city I suppose…for me it increases the value of the whole real estate not just improve the whole aesthetics of the place….yes greenery takes up space but it improves the whole feel of the place as a livable environment for everyone. Just to cite an example look at the vision of the New york city govt officials when they decided to put away space for the New York central park over hundred years ago…fast forward to our present time, the buildings, hotels that surround NY central park are one of the most priciest in the US thus far..ugaling kinahalang nga visionary kag may incredible foresight ang mga govt offcial para nga matabo ina..
yeah it seems were so pre occupied w/ those buildings that we tend to forget the environment. think theres nothing wrong as long as have to balance nature and industrialization.
I agree that the area should have more greens. It would make the area more attractive.
Currently living in Scotland but married to an Antique girl since 1988. I have see Iloilo improve over the years, and I think that with the new airport having been constructed in the last 5 years and the Iloilo infrastructure developing parallel to that, it has become a very dynamic city. Fantastic job.
hi. what time does starbucks open in the morning?
get the yellow page not a blog site
And its better if there is a wide sidewalk from southpoint to plazuela, right? :)
Trees make panoramic beauty that even when you’re inside the building you’ll get fascinated by seeing those refreshing views outside.
There’s no space for trees. I’ve seen plants on pots at Starbucks. Well, they look good naman, so for me, its not boring. Beside moon cafe, there’s a landscaping.
I agree with you Ming. It looks so boring if you dont see any trees around – no matter how beautiful is the structure.
kag kung wala trees, napakainit sang area. put some greens to cool the area.
Cool. Wish they planted some trees or rather put some pots of trees around the building
trees lang ang ginsuguran, kadamu na gin sugpon. ahay “A poem as lovely as a tree”. hehehehe
@mur2s: salamat for the compliment. NY central park is a nice place.
@jo: naga share lang sing akon thoughts ah….just like you. After all it thats the essence of a blog post di bla?
