Registration is now open for the 1st ever Visayas Blogging Summit (VBS) and Philippine Blog Awards – Visayas Leg, which will be held in the City of Iloilo on November 27, 2010. We’re calling out all bloggers not only from the Visayas but also other parts of the Philippines to log-on to the Official Visayas Blogging Summit 2010 Website and join the event, which is planned to be the biggest gathering of bloggers in the Visayas.

The Visayas Blogging Summit 2010 is co-presented by SM City Iloilo, which provided the use of their Cinema 2 for the whole day of November 27. The goal of the Visayas Blogging Summit is to gather ideas from bloggers and explore the potential impact of blogging on society, business and politics in the Visayas and beyond. Some of the most visible and influential bloggers in the Philippine blog-o-sphere will be joining the event to share their knowledge and tips about a wide range of topics. So register now to partake in this special opportunity!

During the evening of the same day, the party will be brought to The Venue in The Avenue Complex for the Visayas Leg of the Philippine Blogging Summit. The Philippine Blog Awards aims to recognize notable Filipino-owned blogs in their respective niches. With topics ranging from the arts, culture, technology and politics, Filipinos have become more abreast because of the fast growing blogging industry here and abroad. Iloilo to Host the 1st Visayas Blogging Summit on November 27-28, 2010

The Visayas Blogging Summit Promises to be the Biggest Gathering of Bloggers in the Visayas Region.

Preparations are now in full swing for the First Visayas Blogging Summit (VBS) which will be held in Iloilo City. The event is slated November 27, 2010 in SM Cinema, SM City Mandurriao. Alongside the VBS, Iloilo City will also host the second edition of the Philippine Blog Awards – Visayas. More than 200 bloggers from all over the Visayan Region, as well as bloggers from Luzon and Mindanao are expected to attend these two events. After the VBS and the blog awards, the delegates will be treated to a day-long sightseeing tour of Iloilo in November 28th.

Western Visayas Tourism Assembly 2009 Pictures

Last week (December 3 to 6), all six provinces and two highly urbanized cities in Western Visayas met in Roxas City to showcase the colorful and unique tourist attractions of region. Western Visayas is among the most visited region in the Philippines, being home to the world famous Boracay Island, Dinagyang Festival of Iloilo City, and Masskara Festival of Bacolod City along with the alluring cultural and natural attractions of Antique, Aklan, Capiz, Guimaras, Negros Occidental, and Iloilo provinces. Onlookers and visitors attending the tourism assembly were treated to the unique opportunity of experiencing the best of Western Visayas in just one place. Explore Iloilo cited by international firm, KPMG

A few months ago KPMG, one of the largest professional services firms in the world, released a report about the World’s new emerging outsourcing destinations entitled “Exploring Global Frontiers“. It came to a surprise when Bernie from Taralets! Blog informed us about ExploreIloilo.com being cited as one of the sources in the said report. Apparently, the people behind KPMG had visited Explore Iloilo to find information about current BPO companies in Iloilo. Here’s a screen shot of their report:

A big thank you to all viewers of Explore Iloilo for continuing to support this blog and its aim of promoting Iloilo online! Your views, comments, emails, links, and referrals to friends and family were of great inspiration to keep the flame burning. Looking forward to yet another productive and dynamic year of covering our beloved Iloilo!

In 2008, Explore Iloilo has attracted over 194,769 Visits (533 visits per day) with 710,085 Pageviews (1944 pageviews per day) and a total of 2,863 comments (Google Analytics). Figures could have been higher if not for server down times especially during the end of the year, I have corrected the problem and moved to a more reliable web host.
