The Visayas Blogging Summit Promises to be the Biggest Gathering of Bloggers in the Visayas Region.

Preparations are now in full swing for the First Visayas Blogging Summit (VBS) which will be held in Iloilo City. The event is slated November 27, 2010 in SM Cinema, SM City Mandurriao. Alongside the VBS, Iloilo City will also host the second edition of the Philippine Blog Awards – Visayas. More than 200 bloggers from all over the Visayan Region, as well as bloggers from Luzon and Mindanao are expected to attend these two events. After the VBS and the blog awards, the delegates will be treated to a day-long sightseeing tour of Iloilo in November 28th.

Ayala Technohub Iloilo – August 2010 Update

The construction of Ayala’s Iloilo Techohub, a commercial development by Ayala Land, has already started. The complex is located in Riverside Boardwalk (near Smallville) and is envisioned to address Iloilo City’s lack of Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) spaces, which one of the reasons why Iloilo City lacks behind other cities in the Philippines in attracting investments from call center companies despite its competitive manpower advantage. The P1B development will feature three buildings, the first of which will be completed on the first quarter of 2011. Ayala Technohub will also have spaces for restaurants and retail shops. Construction has been ongoing almost non-stop to beat its date of completion deadline on October 10, 2010 (10/10/10). Once finished, Plazuela de Iloilo will feature dining areas, retail spaces, a concert ground, and spaces for Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) locators such as call center companies in Iloilo City. Megaworld’s Iloilo Business Park starts constructions – 04/10 update

After the approval of Megaworld Corp.’s 54-hectare property in Mandurriao District, Iloilo City as a PEZA accredited IT Park, actual construction works on the proposed mixed-use residential/commercial complex dubbed as the “Iloilo Business Park” has finally started. Massive clearing and land filling activities have been spotted in the site. The development on what used to be Iloilo’s old airport is the biggest commercial project in the City’s history costing an initial P1.5 billion.
