Balaan Bukid in Jordan, Guimaras is known for providing visitors and residents a nice overview of Iloilo’s growing skyline. There’s a lot of daytime views from Balaan Bukid posted online already but none taken during nighttime. Iloilo Sea / Boat Trip and RORO Schedules

Iloilo is well connected to major cities in the Philippines by sea. It takes 20 hours at most from Iloilo to Manila by boat. Bacolod City is just one-hour away with many trips daily. From Zamboanga, Iloilo can be reached in 16 hours, Cagayan de Oro in 14 hours, and Cebu in 12 hours. Aside from the large sea vessels that dock at the Iloilo Domestic Port, Iloilo is also served by RORO (roll-on roll-off) ferries. Iloilo is a major transit point of the Western Philippines Nautical Highway, which make it possible to travel to/from Manila, Negros, Cebu, Palawan, or Mindanao without taking a single flight.

Iloilo Airport reaches 1 million passenger arrivals in 2008

For the second year, the passenger arrivals in the Iloilo Airport has breached the 1 million markÂ last year (2008). It has been two years since the airport has transferred from Mandurriao to the new facility in Cabatuan-Santa Barbara and it seems the move was timely since the increase in traffic could be accommodated better.

Iloilo Airport January to December 2008 Traffic Report:

- Total – 1,073,109 (7% increase from 2007)

Iloilo Airport 2005 Passenger Traffic Report

The age-old Iloilo Airport in Mandurriao District is scheduled to be replaced by a bigger and better facility located in Santa Barbara on March 2007. Let’s take a look at the performance of the Iloilo Domestic Airport to see if current trends are able to support a much bigger and modern facility.
