Ayala Technohub Iloilo – August 2010 Update

The construction of Ayala’s Iloilo Techohub, a commercial development by Ayala Land, has already started. The complex is located in Riverside Boardwalk (near Smallville) and is envisioned to address Iloilo City’s lack of Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) spaces, which one of the reasons why Iloilo City lacks behind other cities in the Philippines in attracting investments from call center companies despite its competitive manpower advantage. The P1B development will feature three buildings, the first of which will be completed on the first quarter of 2011. Ayala Technohub will also have spaces for restaurants and retail shops. Plazuela de Iloilo – August 2010 Update

Plazuela de Iloilo, one of Iloilo’s most exciting ongoing developments, is still in full swing. Construction has been ongoing almost non-stop to beat its date of completion deadline on October 10, 2010 (10/10/10). Once finished, Plazuela de Iloilo will feature dining areas, retail spaces, a concert ground, and spaces for Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) locators such as call center companies in Iloilo City. Plazuela de Iloilo is located just next door to SM City Iloilo Mall along Diversion Road, Mandurriao District.

Transcom opens call center in Iloilo

Transcom, considered as Europe’s largest business process outsourcing (BPO) firm, is currently operating in its new call center facility in Amigo Mall, Iznart. St. The company is set to hire around 1,000 to 2,000 employees for its Iloilo site. Gaisano Capital Mall Rennovation – May 2009 Update

Gaisano Capital Mall in La Paz District, Iloilo City is finally going undergo a renovation. This mall has become quite behind compared to newer malls in the city. This current renovation is most probably due to Gaisano wanting to attract call center (and other Business Process Outsourcing) companies to rent their huge vacant spaces. It was recently announced that Gaisano’s bid to become an IT (Information Technology) accredited building was approved by PEZA (Philippine Economic Zone Authority) and 2 call centers are already interested in checking out the site. Locating in a PEZA accredited buildings enables IT companies to get hold of tax incentives from the Government. Here are pictures of the ongoing renovation of Gaisano Capital Iloilo so far:

New Amigo Plaza Mall Pictures

The newly renovated Amigo Plaza Mall opened last month, giving a more modern appearance to the decades-old shopping center. The exterior looks clean with its aluminum cladding highlighted with blue accents and new glass windows.

Callbox Call Center to double its workforce

Callbox Inc. is one of 4 call centers in Iloilo City, the others being: ePLDT Ventus, IV, and Echo-service. It is located in the 2nd floor of Emmanuel Business Center, Benigno Aquino Ave. (Diversion Road), Molo, Iloilo City.
