Smallville Complex is a popular dining and nightlife destination in Iloilo where Ilonggos and visitors go to eat, drink, and spend a fun night out in the city. The term Smallville originally refers to the row of restaurants, bars, and clubs beside Iloilo Business Hotel but due to several expansions in the area, it now refers to the whole complex.

The Iloilo Boulevard located along the Iloilo River is Iloilo City’s newest recreation destination. It is a great place to have a leisurely stroll, go biking, hang out with friends and family, or simply enjoy the great view of the Iloilo River during sunset.

The riverside promenade starts from Barbeque Park along Diversion Road (near Marina) and then passes through the Riverside Boardwalk and the salt beds in Brgy. Tabucan, Mandurriao. The stretch ends in Carpenter’s Bridge, which was recently closed to vehicular traffic and beautified with a cobble-stone laden road. The exhilarating experience is best capped with a meal at the humble Andes Patahan or Casual Dining at Messe Ristaurante near the bridge.

A wondrous sight to behold is the Lizares Mansion, now the Angelicum School, known as one of Iloilo’s most iconic heritage houses. The Lizares Mansion stands in testimony of Iloilo’s booming sugar industry during its heydey. Every year, the main building of Angelicum becomes the subject of amusement as thousands of Christmas lights adorn every inch of its facade further enhancing the charm of this magnificent edifice.

Villa Beach is a long gray sand beach in Arevalo (Villa) District located at the Southern Coast of Iloilo City. The area is popular weekend destination in the city for its row of restaurants offering affordable fresh seafoods. During the early 1990s, people used to enjoy bathing in the waters while spending lazy afternoons on the beach but now, most people would only spend their time strolling along the seashore or enjoying the food inside restaurants.

Muelle Loney (pronounced as Mool-ye) refers to Iloilo’s River Wharf and the street at the western side of the river. It is being used today as a port for inter-island vessels such as ferries and “Roll-on Roll-off” (RORO) boats plying the Iloilo to Bacolod route. Thousands of passengers, pedestrians, and motorists pass by Muelle Loney everyday. Unknown to most of them is the history of Muelle Loney and its central-role in the birth of the prosperous sugar industry of the Visayas during the 1800s to 1900s.

The Molo Church is one of the most familiar landmarks of Iloilo. Built in 1831, the church stands as a reminder of Iloilo’s rich history and a monument for Ilonggo artistry. The Molo exudes a blatant expression of Gothic-Renaissance architecture, the one of its kind outside Manila. The interior is a fusion of Gothic and Romanesque architectures, there is a constant alternation between the overpowering features of Gothic and the recessive characteristics of Romanesque.
