The Iloilo Airport serves Iloilo and the general area of Panay Island. It is located 19 kilometers away from Iloilo City, specifically in the tri-boundaries of Cabatuan, Santa Barbara, and San Miguel town. Four airlines namely Cebu Pacific, Philippine Airlines, Air Philippines, Zest Air serve the New Iloilo Airport with regular trips to the cities of Manila,Cebu, Davao, and Cagayan de Oro. The Iloilo Airport is regarded as one of the most modern airports in the Philippines and 4th busiest in terms of passenger and cargo movement.

INJAP Tower Condotel, a glimpse at Iloilo’s First High-rise Building

Injap Land has released the design / perspective of its upcoming 21-storey condominium project named “Injap Tower Condotel.” According to the firm, groundbreaking rites for the new development is planned on May 2011. The towering building is envisioned to be Iloilo’s first high-rise building and a pioneer among residential condominium developments in city. Located at the corner of Diversion Road and Jalandoni St. (just across SM City Iloilo), the mixed-use building will feature residential condotel or condo-hotel units on the upper levels as well as commercial units and multi-level parking on the lower floors.

SM Malls Bares Plan to Build a New ‘Supermall’ in Iloilo City

A according to a news article released by BusinessWorld, SM Prime holdings is eyeing to build a second SM Supermall in Iloilo City. Details about its proposed location, floor area, construction dates, were not revealed in the article. We’ll just have to wait and see until more details are announced by SM Prime Holdings.

Old Iloilo Provincial Capitol “Casa Real” Restoration Project

The Casa Real, better known as the Old Iloilo Provincial Capitol Building, is finally going to have a major facelift soon. The development comes in light of the building’s declaration as a “National Historical Site” by the National Historical Institute (NHI) earlier this year. The Casa Real building has undergone a lot of renovations and additions from the time it became the seat of the civil government of Iloilo in 1901, used as a military garrison by Japanese Imperial Forces during WWII, up to recent years when a much bigger provincial capitol building was built and the original capitol building was left on the sidelines.

Cine Eagle Building Renovation – 4/10

Unlike the restoration of a similar heritage building nearby, the building known as “Cine Eagle” in the past is currently undergoing renovation and will be transformed into a modern building with the proposed name – “TTW Corporate Center.” Based from the render, the renovation will involve covering the building in aluminum cladding and applying glass panel windows. The first floor will be occupied by food shops and the upper floors by commercial offices.

Megaworld’s Iloilo Business Park starts constructions – 04/10 update

After the approval of Megaworld Corp.’s 54-hectare property in Mandurriao District, Iloilo City as a PEZA accredited IT Park, actual construction works on the proposed mixed-use residential/commercial complex dubbed as the “Iloilo Business Park” has finally started. Massive clearing and land filling activities have been spotted in the site. The development on what used to be Iloilo’s old airport is the biggest commercial project in the City’s history costing an initial P1.5 billion.

8-storey Smallville21 Hotel Topped Off – 04/10 Update

The construction of Smallville21 Hotel in Smallville has reached its final 8th floor. Once finished, Smallville21 will the 3rd hotel in Smallville area and also, a nice addition to Iloilo’s growing number of mid-rises. The new hotel is located in front of The Avenue and the proposed Ayala Technohub in Smallville, Mandurriao, District.

Iloilo Technohub by Ayala Land Proposed

Bared during the Iloilo Investment Forum, the Iloilo Technohub by Ayala Land is composed of three (3) buildings with support facilities and amenities for BPO locators. The first of the three buildings is envisioned to be a 3-storey, Grade A facility with 500-700 sq m of arcaded retail spaces at the ground floor.

As early as this announcement Ayala said that they already have a BPO locator in the proposed technohub. The 2 hectare property is located in Smallville spanning the whole area from The Avenue to the Riverside Boardwalk
