Kuta Watchtower

Located in Bgy. Baybay Norte (Poblacion, Miagao, Iloilo Province) a short walk from the poblacion, the Kuta Watchtower was constructed with the same materials as the Roman Catholic church of Miagao. It was built by the townsfolk of MiagaoÂ as a watch tower to detect Moro Invaders during the Pre-hispanic and hispanic perdiod. Today, it is being used as the Barangay Hall of Baybay Norte, Miagao.

Tigbauan Roman Catholic Church

The Tigbauan Church is unique in the country because of its Latin American churriquesque architecture. The church was constructed in 1575 and destroyed during an earthquake in 1948.

Guimbal Old Cemetery

Guimbal’s old cemetery was built during the mid or late 19th century along the highway, near Gibuangan. A stone wall decorated with ornate iron designs protect the sacred remains of Guimbalanons within.

A churchyard cemetery, claimed to be one of the earliest churchyard cemeteries in the Philippines, is reported to have existed in the south side of the present Roman Catholic church of Guimbal, unfortunately evidences or traces of its existence has not been thoroughly established.
