Tenants have already opened up shop in SM City Iloilo’s newest development called Southpoint. To the delight of Ilonggo consumers, Starbucks Coffee and La Mesa Grill started its operations last month while Stavros’ Kebab and Mediterranean House is set to open within the next few weeks. Here’s a photo update of the new stores at SM City Iloilo Southpoint:

21-Storey INJAP Tower Design Perspective Updates

These have been released for a while already but here are the latest design perspectives of the proposed 21-Storey INJAP Tower. According to the latest update, the soon-to-rise condotel in front of SM City Iloilo will have parking spaces on the ground to 3rd floor, condotel units on the 4th to 20th floor, and a condotel cafe with meeting rooms on the 21st floor. Groundbreaking for the INJAP Tower is scheduled in May 2011.

SM Malls Bares Plan to Build a New ‘Supermall’ in Iloilo City

A according to a news article released by BusinessWorld, SM Prime holdings is eyeing to build a second SM Supermall in Iloilo City. Details about its proposed location, floor area, construction dates, were not revealed in the article. We’ll just have to wait and see until more details are announced by SM Prime Holdings.

Registration is now open for the 1st ever Visayas Blogging Summit (VBS) and Philippine Blog Awards – Visayas Leg, which will be held in the City of Iloilo on November 27, 2010. Plazuela de Iloilo, one of Iloilo’s most exciting ongoing developments, is still in full swing. Construction has been ongoing almost non-stop to beat its date of completion deadline on October 10, 2010 (10/10/10). Dinagyang 2010 Coverage

Be prepared this weekend to witness the whole City of Iloilo revel during the Dinagyang Festival 2010 and experience an explosion of sound, color, and dance. The Dinagyang Festival is a religious and cultural celebration in Iloilo City held on the fourth Sunday of January, the week after the Sinulog In Cebu and the Ati-Atihan in Aklan. It is held both to honor the Santo Nino and to celebrate the arrival on Panay of Malay settlers and the subsequent selling of the island to them by the Atis.

Southpoint Annex – SM City Iloilo Expansion 12/09 Update

Iloilo November 2009 Updates Part 1 of 3- Commercial Developments in Mandurriao

With Iloilo City’s political climate sizzling, it seems developments are also sprouting in all corners of the city. 2010 is a year to watch for in Iloilo City not only because of the elections / change of leadership but also because it’s the year that the Iloilo Flood Control Project and Coal-fired Power Plant in La Paz are expected to be completed, solving two of Iloilo City’s major problems: Flooding and (insufficient, unreliable, expensive) Power. The first part of this month’s development update will feature projects and constructions along Diversion Road (Benigno Aquino Avenue), in Mandurriao District.

Smallville 21

An 8-storey hotel is in the works in Smallville Complex – Smallville 21, another development by the owner/s of Century 21,Â Highway 21 hotels and Club 21 Restobar. Smallville 21 is located in front of The Avenue Complex, beside Pirates Bar.
