waahhh..go oton…Oton still is the Richest town..:)
actually, Oton is distancing itself slowly from Pototan. If you review the data from 2005, it seems that Oton is gaining more per year. Something that other municipalities are not aware of.
And in the same way, Pavia is really a wildcard. It’s slowly easing its way to the top. From no 10 to no 5 for a year. That’s a big leap, indeed. And mind you, it’s just a matter of 1million difference from Dumangas (4th) and Lambunao (3rd). With more infras ongoing in Pavia and more businesses are relocating, it could be predicted that Pavia will even topple down Pototan in two to three years time.
Watch out !
Hooray for my hometown! I am surprised and amazed about my hometown, my homeboys, and homegirls! Way to go folks. Way to go Ogtonganon. Keep up the good work. I am there for you all the way.
I made some calculations, if Oton would continue the same income growth, the town could pass the income requirement (P100M) to be a city by 2012 ugaling they still need to meet the 100,000 population requirement.
kami na ang pinakadamu nga population subong sa iloilo..daw mga 80,000++ na bla muh..kaya pa nah ah..damu pa ga busong!!!
JOKE

well kami nga mga taga oton wala kami kabalo ni nga data, mostly amo na damo tawo sa oton but kulang man gihapon ang suport, unlike sa southern part like miag-oa, tigbauan, and iban pa, kita mo diri gapuyo ang dako2x, kami nga taga oton daw ginpabay-an nalang sang selfish nga congressman dahil perdi di sya sa aom so wala bulig mahalin sa iya, it means not a good governance, but subung ok naman kay at least ginaamat amat na cemento ang dalam pakadto Leon from oton town proper dahil sa bulig sang pari sang Brgy Sta, Monica, Parish Prist of Sta Monica, at least bata ta ni sa ulihi kalilaw man cemento ahh kami sang una daw turugban ang amon dalan, ginataman lang gani namon saging, magpadalagan pa ni liwat ang congressman going to be governor kunu pero perdi man, this is politics but amo ni ang toud, pero wala sya kabalo nga mabuhi kami kung wala si congressman, we gererate our own money, shame to this man nga ginatumod ko. di bala otonians?
bera lamabati lang da sila ahh, hehe joke , and beside oton is a very peacefull place no crime incident may ara man guro but taga iban nga lugar, or minimal lang ahh, at that crowded place hah, anyway , sulong sa pag uswag kita tanan para sa aton family man gihapon,
dumangas, first class halin sang una. always was and will be
hmm..sa pagkablo ko..waay pa kaagi first class ang dumangas??..kay it depends sa yearly income of the Municipality..sa pagkabalo ko lang na..
amu gid.. number 1 gid ya ang dumangas.
sang naga pungko pa si mayor distura…
subong nga mayor daw wala gd ah.. c Onal bala.
Dumangas undag undag undagon! hayyyyyyzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz….
PIGAW gid ah.
Just to put the record straight: While the financial data came from COA, it is not the same agency that classifies LGUs according to their income – it is the Bureau of Local Government Finance (BLGF). Further, the new classification of municipalities was based on their average income for the past four years (2004-2007). A brief explanation on the reclassification of LGUs (provinces, cities and municipalities) can be accessed through http://www.dbmro6/org/v1.
Thanks for the info Poncet and clearing things out. I’m wondering if you have the data for these towns for the year 2007: Bingawan, Leon, Maasin, San Miguel, San Rafael, Santa Barbara, and Sara? It would a great thing if they too are included in this post.
The towns you mentioned were not included in the reclassifcation order. I think BLGF will include them in subsequent issuances. BTW, I made a post on the implications of the reclassification of LGUs in my blog: http://fiscaladspace.blogspot.com.
grbe ang oton vah! 2nd lng ang pototan but still top 10.harhar!
oton matahumkung puluy-an hehehehe!!!!! No. 1!!! may partida pana wala pa masyado mga planta and big establishment sa Oton. Taga Oton Agree kamo????
agree ako ni crime, more effective governance, pabay-i lang na ang bulig sang congressman nga na , daw wala man gatupa.
may port ang oton pero gamay, but time will come nga ang oton maging isa ka gateway asside from iloilo city kay tama nana ka sulud , first pueblo of panay, mahala kung oton, blessed gid gali kita no sang typhoon frank, wala maapictohan, anayway thanks again to mama mary who still standing to prevent us from destruction. damo story na nga controvercial nga rebolto but toud man since before pa, talagang melagrosa,

Proud of you guys! To all Ogtonganon officials, private org and group or individual, appreciate all your effort by bringing our hometown on this stage! Padayunon ta pagid and kauswagan sang aton nga banwang tinubuan! OTON, to be a future CITY… aim for it…
I think what makes oton and pavia accelerating in terms of their ira is that because of their proximity to the city compare to other 1st class municipalities like lambunao, dumangas, pototan, calinog, miagao and janiauay. I am looking forward for dUMANGAS TO BECOME THE NEXT COMPONENT CITY tungod kay ga damu nga damu ang mga estblishments kag ang numbers of passengers nga naga sakay sa roro ang triple nga gadamu-damu kag kung makuha pa guid sang insakto ang roro… maaccelerate guid ang kwarta sang banwa… i am not sure but the roro of dumngas has the conflicts in terms of paying the right amount of money sa banwa… dumangas ang may pinakadamu nga population sa 4th district kag compare sa other first class amo lang ni nga banwa ang may bill nga guinatulod aiming for becoming the next component city…
Lupad dumangas lupad…hehehe
xax of roxas city
Dumangas is the number 1` bangus producing municipality in region 6,numbers of fishponds and noble people, 2nd in rice produced…

Whatever happened to TIGBAUAN? It has one of the most number of OCWs or OFWs among the towns in Iloilo Province. In terms of income TIGBAUAN is not far behind. But why TIGBAUAN lagged behind from other towns.
@fewzam…lagged behind?— i dont think so…
@all.one thing i could comment through years of observation…people from Oton are very kind and nice people….they are sooo kind…. i dont know why…. top list in my most friendliest and kindest place in whole of Iloilo.
