Tribu Ilonganon won first runner-up and Tribu Kahilwayan finsihed in the top 10 in the recently concluded Street Dancing Competition of the Aliwan Festival held last April 28, 2007. While, Cara Jeanne Sullano, Iloilo’s contestant for the Reyna in Aliwan, won 2nd place and the Dinagyang Float of Iloilo won the second runner-up title in the float competition.
It is certainly not the best expectation for Iloilo’s contingents but as Ben Jimena (Execute Director of the Iloilo Dinagyang Foundation) said that even though the Dinagyang festival wasn’t able to bag the 1st prize he was not disappointed because the foundation’s main objective is to promote Dinagyang and Iloilo and they were able to achieve that goal because of the excellent performance of Iloilo’s contingents.
I wasn’t able to attend the Aliwan 2007 Festival because I had a class during at the time (excited pa ko tani to roam the streets of Manila with online Ilonggo personalities living in MM). After Aliwan nagperform ang Tribu Ilonganon sa SM-MOA. They were the only Aliwan contingent nga nagperform sa SM-MOA. Not bad, masdamo exposure sang Dinagyang kaysa sa nag-champion.
They are were also invited to perform in Isabela Province this May 5 or 6. Nagpabulubugnaw ang mga Tribu Ilonganon sa Benguet before sila makadto sa Isabela.

i was also at the SM Mall of Asia , i brought my sis, and her finace there upod namon cousin ko.. gin palantaw ko sila sang dinagyang and they were amazed. :)
koek gid… i witnesed d ilonganon tribe in star ct….. in fairness dinagyang festival is d crowd favorite among d 21 contigent…. very energetic ang performance nila as in….la kami nag expect na ma second lang dapat champion gid…… sinulog sa tuod lang parang field demonstrationlang ya…. la gid sa dinagyang na ang dance step very enrgetic kag unique to all……damu pa gapapicture kay dagoy mascot crowd favorite gid ya……… ang sinulog gani sa parade daw la nasapak sang crowd….. 1 factor na nagdaug ang sinulog kasi mas sikat ang cebu sa iloilo….. kon crowd ang mangkoton dinagyang gid ya ang madaug ehhh…. ang judges pla lang ya…….. tapos iyaw man sa reyna ng aliwan dapat mis dingyang nagdaug kay maayo ang sabat crowd favorite pa…. unlike sa taga bulacan nagtagalog siya ya… tapos layo pa sa patad ang sabattt. nagkadlaw pa gani si leo martinez na host sang awarding…… ang results sang aliwan very vias gid ya

ok lang na mga kapatid. We all know nga pinaka da BEST and DINAGYANG FESTIVAL sa tanan nga festivals sa pilipinas. Maski wala sila nag champion sa aliwan, pero bal-an naton nga mga ilonggo nga once mag perform ya ang dinagyang nga tribe maski diin dri nga lugar sa pinas, ang mga tao naga dalalagan kag naga dinaguso sang lantaw. Intro pa lang sang drums ya, grabe na ya hinagunos sang tao mo. Tested and proven na ina ya.
whats important u entertain the world with d beat of drums and synchronized dancing..sinulog is more sophisticated..dinagyang is winning more crowds..so let’s be proud of them all..anyways – what counts is the whole ilonggo n America has d Iloilo votes for dinagyang and its our ethnicity that speaks..hala biraaa!! proud to be an ilonggo too..

Dinagyang captivates Minnesota

With blistered feet, dancers of the ECD Dance Company continue to delight audiences in several performances in Minnesota, Saturday, June 23, 2007, on the last leg of the cultural promotion of Dinagyang which brought the Iloilo City contingent to a series of shows in the United States. “Fantastic and great dancers!†were some congratulatory words from the audience as they leave the theatre after the performances. In fact, the two curtain calls got standing ovation.
