Two flyovers set for construction in iloilo

Posted by Explore Iloilo

Iloilo City - A team of engineers from the President’s Bridge Program under the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) will be visiting Iloilo City shortly to determine the viability of constructing a pair of flyovers to improve traffic conditions here.

The DPWH engineers will be conducting initial site surveys as basis for future feasibility sudies, environmental impact assessments, drawings and designs.

The two downtown flyover projects will cost more that P30-million each, and will be situated at the Gen. Luna Street-Diversion Road junction and at the junction of Gen. Luna and Jalandoni Streets.

The two city flyover projects are among those proposed by DPWH secretary Hermogenes Ebdane and approved by President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo. Similar flyover projects are scheduled to be constructed for Bacolod City, Cebu City, Butuan City, Naga City, Davao City and San Fernando City in Pampanga. All the projects are already included in the 2006 national budget and are expected to be carried over in next year’s budget. (Source: Public Information Office)

    Hello…

It’s more better when the Public Officials of the City and the Province of Iloilo will implement Traffic Rules and Regulations for the safety of the drivers down the road. Traffic Lights must be regulated in the areas of the city and the province. Thanks.
