We held our family’s Christmas party at Villarosa by the Sea in Iloilo City. The resort’s amenities were enough to make our annual celebration comfortable. After eating, gift giving, and playing games, the children decided to end the day with a quick dip in the pool. Everyone was feeling festive and happy. One could totally feel the Christmas spirit in our family. Towards the end of our celebration, the resort’s manager frantically, rudely, and unprofessionally reprimanded the kids for some minor violation that they did to the resort’s pool (not wearing proper swimming attire). IT WAS A SCENE. He made a 7-minute scene. And it was uncalled for.
Supposing that our kids violated some minor rules, he was not right to make a scene especially to rudely reprimand our kids. Our kids were embarrassed and totally humiliated. Kids are kids. Besides, it’s Christmas for Christ’s sake! What the manager could have done was to call the parents’ attention and tell them what happened and what they should do about it. Everything can be settled by proper communication.
