Last week (December 3 to 6), all six provinces and two highly urbanized cities in Western Visayas met in Roxas City to showcase the colorful and unique tourist attractions of region. Western Visayas is among the most visited region in the Philippines, being home to the world famous Boracay Island, Dinagyang Festival of Iloilo City, and Masskara Festival of Bacolod City along with the alluring cultural and natural attractions of Antique, Aklan, Capiz, Guimaras, Negros Occidental, and Iloilo provinces. Onlookers and visitors attending the tourism assembly were treated to the unique opportunity of experiencing the best of Western Visayas in just one place. Aside from the Western Visayas Tourism Assembly, guests were also treated with the beautiful and captivating sights, sounds, and seafoods of Roxas City and Capiz Province, the host of the WVTA. Their efforts in organizing the successful events and promoting their hometown as the eco-tourim capital of the Philippines is truly commendable. Thousands of tourists all over the world will visit the wonders you have featured here. We are appealing, to our fellow Ilonggos where ever they are to help promote different festivals in the region.
On January 19, 2010, around 20 delegates from Australia are coming to witness the Dinagyang Festival. Let’s us all pray for the safety of the delegates travel and our visitors watching our world famous Dinagyang Festival.

WOW! It’s an all-in-one showcase ining celebration. But I noticed something is missing, siguro ang actual spirit of each celebration, like Dinagyang…. one has to be in during the actual festivity to get into the right mode. that’s what I noticed too. The spirit of the festivals are better felt during the festival season in their hometowns.

On Monday, I’ll try to contact, Dir Jessica Chin, CPU International Relations, if how many tickets, the Dinagyang Foundation reserved for the Australian delegations. I reserved 20 tickets for them, and I’ll try to email Dir Ben Jimena, if there are some available tickets left. I suggest too, to go the Office of the City Mayor and buy the said tickets. Each ticket cost 1, 500pesos/person. On January 22, there is an International Cultural Night at CPU, and please tell your Auntie and Uncle to join the Australian delegations. Dinner costs 500 pesos/person. Attire is formal. Please give me your email address so I can contact you.
