Afriques *Italian food with a touch of Ilonggo-ness. 2. Roberto’s *Iloilo’s oldest homegrown fastfood restaurant. Delicious siopao, pansit and burgers. No foreigner leaves Iloilo without eating here. 3. Deco’s *Newest Batchoyan on the block. Established in 1938, it is one of the best tasting Batchoys ever since Ted’s. 4. La Sallete Building *Choose your pick of some of Iloilo’s native restaurants. 5. Breaktrhu *Chosen as the best restaurant in the region during last year’s WV Tourism Assembly. Eat native chicken, seafood and other delicacies beside the beach 6. Tatoy’s *Ilonggo classic. Truly one of the best. 7. Mang Inasal *The most successful Ilonggo fastfood chain ever and is currently the country’s number one chicken barbecue chain. They also offer free rice refills. 8. Coffeebreak *The most successful coffee chain of Iloilo. Has branches all over the city and at Boracay. They offer free Wi-fi. 9. JD Bakeshop and Cafe *Personally recommending this. The best in Ilonggo cuisine and very much affordable for all.Reply ivy saysMay 22, 2008 at 5:52 pmi have a foreign friend who’s coming here this july. any recommendations where restaurants i should bring him to have a taste of the ilonggo food? he likes pastas and seafoods but i want him to experience the real taste of the ilonggo cooking. thanx in advance.Reply Ria saysMay 17, 2008 at 10:36 pmIloilo = food. When I am in the US I lose so much weight, but well when I am home hahahaha…I am back to full-figured. I love Ilonggo food!Reply Lee saysMay 16, 2008 at 10:37 pmWOW!!! That video made me feel homesick, and of course…H U N G R Y! The government of Iloilo is vigorously promoting our culture and heritage thru this video production. I would say Ilonggo dishes are quite unique and distinctive compared to other Filipino dishes. While watching the video, I realized that there are so many young, “serious & professional” Ilonggo chefs around to carry on with the legacy. They featured an array of Ilonggo dishes but they forgot one of my favorites, a very distinctive one, the LUMPIA Ubod. Few months more and I will have the chance to graze on authentic Ilonggo delicacies! And of course, I’m eyeing on those restaurants listed in Explore Iloilo website. Thanks for the work well done, Marcos!Reply
