The “Hirinugyaw-Sugidadonay ” Festival aims to preserve the culture of the Panay Bukdidnons, aborgines of the mountainous parts of By Marcos Detourista on March 4, 2007Held during the 30th of January 2007 was the “Hirinugyaw-Sugidadonay ” Festival of Calinog Town in North-Central Iloilo.The “Hirinugyaw-Sugidadonay ” Festival aims to preserve the culture of the Panay Bukdidnons, aborgines of the mountainous parts of Calinog, through the unique ethnic rituals and chants that the they still practice to this date.“Hirinugyaw”, is a Hiligaynon word meaning “merry making” and “Sugidadonay ” is a term meaning “to engage in a conversation”. 7 tribes have joined the tribal dance competition, which is the highlight of the festival.
