The Kasadyahan is a competition of various groups or “tribus” from towns all over Iloilo. The Kasadyahan Competition is a showcase of the history and culture of Iloilo compressed in a half-day splurge of color, dance, and music. The concept of the performances is centered on the “Barter of Panay,” a legendary story of the arrival of Bornean immigrants and their purchase of Panay Island from the natives, called “Aetas.”
