The event is slated November 27, 2010 By Marcos Detourista on August 22, 2010The Visayas Blogging Summit Promises to be the Biggest Gathering of Bloggers in the Visayas Region.Preparations are now in full swing for the First Visayas Blogging Summit (VBS) which will be held in Iloilo City. The event is slated November 27, 2010 in SM Cinema, SM City Mandurriao. Alongside the VBS, Iloilo City will also host the second edition of the Philippine Blog Awards – Visayas. More than 200 bloggers from all over the Visayan Region, as well as bloggers from Luzon and Mindanao are expected to attend these two events. After the VBS and the blog awards, the delegates will be treated to a day-long sightseeing tour of Iloilo in November 28th.The VBS & PBA Visayas will be the very first event of its kind to be hosted here in Iloilo. Big names from the blogging community will be arriving to deliver talk during the Summit.“The goal of the VBS is to gather ideas and explore the potential impact of blogging on society, business and politics , while the Philippine Blog Awards – Visayas, on the other hand, aims to recognize notable Visayan-owned and Visayan-related blogs in their respective niches. ” adds Junelle Caravana, the Iloilo Bloggers Organization’s Vice President.The Visayas Blogging summit and the Philippine Blog Awards – Visayas is expected to be the biggest gathering of bloggers in the Visayas Region. The VBS & PBA Visayas is organized by the Iloilo Bloggers Organization, a non-stock, non-profit organization, with the full support and endorsement of Philippine Blog Awards Inc. Iloilo City Mayor Hon. Jed Patrick Mabilog and Iloilo Representative Hon. Jerry Trenas are also supporting these events. The Iloilo Bloggers Organization is a diverse group of young people who have gathered with the mission to promote blogging in Iloilo City. The convergence of bloggers from not only the Visayas region but also other parts of the Philippines will offer huge marketing opportunities. Nothing beats the experience of meeting and hooking up with other bloggers from the same region you only get to read online. Plus the learnings you get is priceless and it will make you a better and more effective blogger and will leave you wanting for more meet-ups.Believe me! After hosting the Mindanao Bloggers Summit 2 in GenSan in 2009 and attending the Mindanao Bloggers Summit 3 in Cagayan de Oro last year, I am hooked!
