The Miagao Church, one of Iloilo’s most popular icons, is currently being restored to its more pristine and original state. The project is undertaken by the National Commission for Culture and the Arts and the National Museum of the Philippines in cooperation with the Archdiocese of Jaro.

The restoration comes right after similar efforts in the other baroque churches in the Philippines listed under the list of “World Heritage Sites” by UNESCO such as the San Agustin Church in Intramuros (Manila), Paoay Church in Ilocos Norte, and Santa Maria Church in Ilocos Sur.
