On the menu, is a delectable array of Chinese dishes and desserts including mooncakes that is sure to make a fulfilling gastronomic experience of the festivity for Ilonggos and visitors.The Mid-Autumn Festival is a cherished harvest festival celebrated on the 15th day of the eighth month in the Chinese calendar. It is also called the Autumn Moon Festival because of because of the celebration’s association with the full moon on this night and the Mooncake Festival because of the popular tradition of eating mooncakes on this occasion. This 2014, the day of the Mid-Autumn “Mooncake” festival falls on the 8th of September.Mooncakes at The Promenade’s Mid-Autumn Festival Buffet. Eating and sharing of mooncakes is the hallmark tradition of this festival.Assortment of mooncakes that diner can bring back to their friends and family. On display are mooncakes in different flavors including yellow monggo, black mongo, and tasty lotus seed.Featured below are photos taken during opening day of the lunch buffet at The Promenade. I arrived a bit late, so I was not able to capture the well-presented dishes in their “untouched” state. Rest assured, they tasted really good!
