The Dinagyang season in Iloilo is fast approaching and the festive fever is starting to brew in the city. Many visitors and balikbayans have already marked their calendars and booked their flights for the Dinagyang Festival highlights on January 21-23, 2011. If you’re interested to buy tickets for seats at the judging areas during the tribe competitions here are some helpful details:

Where to buy the Dinagyang 2011 tickets?

Reservations for the tickets are not allowed. All buyers (or their representatives) have to buy the tickets at the Iloilo City Tourism Office located at the Freedom Grandstand (J.M. Basa Street).

The City Tourism Office does not offer an option for online payments to cater to foreigners and Filipinos from abroad. Interested parties must find a representative, currently in Iloilo City, who can go to the Freedom Grandstand to buy the tickets.

There are two tribe competitions during the Dinagyang Festival 2011 namely: The Kasadyahan Competition (January 22, 2011) and the Dinagyang Ati Competition (January 23, 2011), which are the main highlights of the weeklong array of festivities. Spaces in the judging areas are limited so if you want to witness the tribe competitions of the Dinagyang Festival, it would be best to buy the tickets early.
